"Cripple Kane confronts the corrupt sheriff 'Blind-eye Bill' in an epic western showdown."

WATCH THE COOL CREDIT SEQUENCE AT THE END!

So. I started this in late April/early May of 2008. It all started when 'Decade Studios' Perry, a Newgrounds user friend of mine, sent me a song and said "This song reminded me of you". That Song was "A Gringo Like Me". Instantly I started animating the very beginning of this video, just as a fun little project. This fun little project expanded and expanded to turn into the ambitious monster that is this movie. All these ideas for the video came to mind. Make some sort of ultimate western extravaganza. Only problem is, I had always had trouble animating horses. That's what put this project on hold for so long. But thanks to ZekeySpaceyLizard, he jumped in and helped me with some horse legs on a front shot movieclip. That was basically the wall breaker and I wasn't stuck anymore.

Basically yesterday i sat down and animated essentially the second half of this movie. determined to finish this once and for all... It was hell... and by God am I thrilled to say it's complete.

Stylistically what I had in mind for this when I was animating was to try and give a western movie the old 1960's-1970's kung fu style of cinematography. with Westerns usually having a slow and tense pace. I decided to try and give it that in your face, zany sort of action.

Well. I don't care, it's done. I just gave birth to an overweight baby.

Dim the light, I hope you enjoy.

Special Thanks to Perry, he's the one who showed me the song and started it all. And Kevin Barrios (Buzzwerd) for bitching at me to finish this thing and standing me sending him every frame of updates.

Beautiful animation

Reminded me of samurai jack. Very fluid and well done. Great job.

A good Fit

The song really encompassed the story, and the animation was nice fluid and fast paced. i've always loved the 'old' westerns and i think that this flash was really entertaining and a great homage to the source material!

keep up the good work!!!

wery good

good music, story and the art made it look cowboyish but cind`a short

u cant trust me then

i liked it i thought it was very cool and the music was awesome. 1 complaint though not enough sound effects like stools falling horse hoofs i wouldve liked to hear things like that

AlmightyHans responds:

it was intentional to have not many sound effects. I wanted it to be focused more on the music and the sound effects are almost like little accents throughout the movie.

just like how i cook my steak... well done

to be honest i like my steaks medium rare but thatd just be straight up silly saying your work is bloody delicious... oh shit nm that sounds just about right. anyway, i rarely "jack in" to write a review but this flash has definitely caught my eye. i love to read the bad reviews first so i know what i shouldnt nit pick on or whatever since youve probably heard enough of it. so, song- awesome. animation- yeah it does kinda look like an esurance commercial/samurai jackish with the lack of black outlines, also awesome. sound- crisp and treble spike free. nice job on squeezing in the wilhelm scream for henchmen #2. love the design of the revolvers, you were able to give them a precise look that didnt look too cheesy or made you look like a gun otaku. and if you are, no big. though whats up with the extra boots on his horse? was that how they used to roll in the old west? well im no history major so its no big for me. just curious is all. and last, lack of story? who the fuckedy fuck cares? it is what it is, just a good ol' outlaw killing folks and havin a good ol' time! anyway, so overall good jerbbb! nothinggs perfect so 9/10 for you chief. well done, bloody delicious.

Ecstacy of Gold by Hugo Montenegro. heard it? probably. well not likely to happen but itd definitely be a slick choice for music if you decide to continue this story. have a good one!
