Lawls Demo

For one thing, I would never EVER pay $20 for this game. I might consider $5, but never 20. If you haven't realized what people WILL and WON'T pay for, maybe you need to play "Video Game Designer" and learn just what people will and will not do.

Ways to improve your game!

-Mayor and Managers!

I got SICK of organizing events, calling the police FIRE DEPT HOSPITAL! All the freaking time! Why can't I hire someone to click a button! I was suddenly, by the end, unable to find anytime to build more, which is what I found fun about this game. Calling in boats is enough work, and more importantly it is boring work. It isn't exciting or innovative. Sending the police? Not exciting... so, you should have the option to buy (for a cheap price) a Mayor for emergency vehicles and a manager for events. In case people don't want to do them.

Maybe the player can... pick advertising strategies to get people to come to their Marina, that at least would present some kind of challenge. You could have slider bars for it that turn up various target demographics. (Family Friendly, Sex Appeal, Fun, Cheap, Etc.)

-Make things YOU HAVE TO HAVE less expensive

I couldn't get a fire department for a while. A few of my buildings burnt down while I was saving up the money for one. Lame.

-Boats should come from all directions.

Yeah, boats only come from the bottom of the map? Why? Is that where everyone lives? NO one lives above them? No one is out in the ocean? This makes the game too easy, and too hard if you don't KNOW that all the boats come from the bottom. I built my first Radio Station at the top of the map... I rarely got a boat because of that, and I had to save up enough money to buy another for the bottom.

The only use for the roads seems to be the Emergency Vehicles... but shouldn't there... I don't know... be roads to a CITY on a SHORE of a BEACH? Couldn't you build roads that CONNECT to those roads and thus get TRAFFIC from people bringing their BOATS to the BEACH. And, a parking lot? With no roads leading anywhere? That makes sense. Good going.

-Less Complex Dock/Road Building

The system for road and dock building is flawed. For one thing, I have to focus on all this stuff going on everywhere, events, emergencies, boats. When do I have time to build a fucking road, or add a dock? Why doesn't the dock system PAUSE the game when you are setting up the blue prints for the new dock, and then you can click build. And also, the roads kept not connecting, it was rather lame.

Overall you have a good SKELETON of a game. It isn't complete, at all. Not if you want to sell it for $20. Good luck.

Oh and by the way, the demo thing, what a slap to the face. Not good PR at all. It doesn't say Demo anywhere besides the people complaining about it. I would say this should be a market research game... go work on it some more.

Very good, as usual for this sort of game. Professional quality, enjoyable, and so forth.

But, half score, for the demo quality. If I want to pay for a game, I want something a lot more professional than this, and a lot more enjoyable.

Hidden Demos

The game itself was not bad. Moved a little too fast at times. Some of the utilities prices need to be lowered to make them available earlier before problems start (police, fire station, medical).

What I hate is the fact that it was a demo. There is no reason to put a demo on a free site without advertising the fact that it's a demo in the title. I don't like getting halfway through a game and then finding out I have to pay to continue.
