You were right about reading the comments while waiting for it to load since I'm not the patient type but it was certainly worth the wait. Voice acting was well done, the animation and sounds engaging, and the story was unique yet encompassing the ideas we have known and loved (?). The vocabulary made my day since I got to learn new words and made my nose bleed (my country's term that means finding something profound). Great job!
One thing though. The text size was too small to read from a comfortable distance.
that was truly the narration was on point and i loved how you used water colors to illustrate it. the idea of a story book format was very unique and original and the script was a master class. please give us more, all in all you deserve a 10! (although i was a bit vexed that he didn't get the girl at the end)
Your great review and your support are both much appreciated!
Props go to Cecilia for bringing watercolours to the table on this one; she managed to take Nacho's distinctive designs and really bring an extra dimension out of them. The whole dreamworld effect it creates is exactly in tune with my surreal mindset for this story, so I'm thrilled with their results.
Sorry about the vexing there; I'll see if I can get one of my future characters hooked up with their own special someone to make up for that! Mind you, I think our protagonist for this tale comes away richer from the whole experience, and maybe a little wiser for his next potential adventure.
Cheers for encouraging original talent, and we hope to bring you more great projects soon!
Illustrious language and vivid pictures get a 10!
The wordage was simply fantastic. It painted me a picture in my mind, and showed me the copy on the page. I found the humor dazzling. Every time I turned the page ,I found something to make me chuckle. And the page turning activity kept me occupied. Also, the narration was amazing. We need more of this on Newgrounds!
As long as more people like you continue to support this kind of creative work, it'll help to generate a greater public interest towards developing projects at a high standard! I have good hopes for more Storybooks in the future, and we'll definitely work on many more engaging endeavours in the near future.
Interested to see you're studying narration! How would you rate your skills?
Maybe one of these days you could end up reading for a Storybook yourself!
Hope you also get heavily into some creative writing; you express yourself well and have a good sense of quality, so I think you'd find it really rewarding.
Cheers for the review!
I loved it from start to finish, unfortunately it did have to end, the artwork was fantastic and it reminded me of old books I used to read as a child, the vocabulary was superb and very refreshing, the characters were charming and had a likeness to each of themselves...I dig this brilliance.
when i was reading your book i practically could taste the wine. the book was pulling me into a depth of wanting more. you had great detail and voices for the story book. it reminded me of a kid's storybook.. you should make more like SOON :)
