This is a side view 2d golf sim with powerups! We used box2d physics and went for a fairly clean style with some nice golf-y sounds. The course is a kind of mix between normal golf challenges and quirky mini-golf style holes.

Aiming is simple, just click and drag to set the angle and power of the shot, you don't need to choose a club type, it's all automatic.

My best is a round of low 50's

Enjoy!

Just to clarify...

there is friction on the flat parts of the course, and only the flat parts. the problem is that if the ball is on a hill, no matter how small the angle is the ball continues to roll and even speed up. my suggestion (if i can offer one cause i've never worked with a physics engine b4) is to have the ball continue to slow down on any hill less than 15 degrees. Also the golf ball should have less bounce on the grass when being shot with less than half power, i noticed that it sometimes took three or four bounces to finally stop at half power. and i scored a 39

Very good game

Pros:
scrolling
physics
sound
graphics
powerups
level design

Cons:
a few of the levels are practically impossible, like the trapezoid hill one (I got like 9 over par on that one)
you should let the player know what the powerups do before you touch it, that way you can plan for the shot rather than knowing what it does only after you touch it

I really love golf games so I love this game too. Make more.

very good start

The game was a good "shell" but you really need to fix some problems in the game!

-You need to definetly work on friction, and no not spin. By friction were talking about how the ball just rolls naturally flat and parallel with the grass...is this astro turf? there should be some kind of drag on the ball, it made it hard to guage how far the ball would go and how much force you should put on the swing.

-You need to take care of the physics, I read in a previous review that you said you were using a physics bot, but to be honest it just felt like there werent any real physics at all...or almost like the physics were made for a space shooter/flyer, so maybe thats something to look into!

The good-

-I liked the multiple bonuses you can get in the game, for example...the bigger hole, anti-gravity, extra swing...etc etc, they really spiced up the game, and I mean if your not into golf, these kinds of games can get real boring.

-The sound effects were right on the mark, and everything seemed to sound fluid.

Over all I thought it was a good start you just really need to fix the stuff stated above! Cant wait to see the end result!

I have to agree with everyone else

The lack of friction makes this game unplayable. Otherwise this could have been amazing.

Also anti-gravity means that gravity is reversed. I think the term you were looking for is zero-gravity.

Warnockworld responds:

By friction do you mean spin? Because there is friction, just no spin. It was very hard to give spin to the control scheme.
