Day in the Life - Cthulhu

I made this for an HP Lovecraft class as my final. My teacher has a strange sense of humor so I'm guessing I'll get a decent grade.
UPDATE: I got an A on this flash!

I decided to stay up working on this through 4:30 in the morning. I realized it was a little short, so in a sleep deprived, caffeine fueled stupor, I created an extended ending.
Lots of HP Lovecraft references if you keep your eyes peeled. The three of you who searched for "Cthulhu" and found this may or may not be entertained.

Anyway, hope you guys like this. My good computer is still dead, so I made this with Flash 8 on a computer optimized for Windows 2000. Yes it's that old.
UPDATE: Good computer is back!

My friend TheL1st made the sexier backgrounds, and Xander1062 made the squiddly Cthulhu noises.
Hope you guys like it, I'll probably find it less funny in the morning.

Check out my other cartoons for something good.

EDIT: Fixed some issues, so now you can see what Dagon is saying the second time. Flash is wicked glitchy so I did the best I could.

2nd EDIT: Wow! Front page? Thanks!

I respond to all reviews.
Also, if it's not playing, right click and press play. Don't give me a zero without at least giving a little effort to see the movie!

Dagon has some perky breasts.

Well animated and funny. I liked.

Great stuff

Simple concept, made funny by the additions of various bits and pieces, such as Cthulhu's "voice" and the fact that he seems to lean over the garden fence every morning and chat to his friend, Dagon.

Perhaps this needs to be revisited, as Cthulhu's adventures in space would be just insane. Particularly with the whole Star Trek theme that you're playing, while they fly through the depth of space. Perhaps it could be adapted into some sort of music video for "I Believe In A Thing Called Love", by the Darkness.

Overall, I think that the commitment was questionable, as it seemed so promising, only not really having that much plot in there. I know that you're a good writer and you've set the bar so high, it needs to be that you keep up to scratch, if you're not pushing yourself.

Still, it bagged the front page and if this is the sort of thing that you should be making to press for that all important hardware.

Battosai810 responds:

This animation was basically a retelling of Call of Cthulhu from an innocent Cthulhu's point of view. My commitment for this was actually pretty damn good - I made it more or less overnight, with a little work going on in the week before. If I hadn't been up til 3am or whatever making it, I probably would have finished the real story and not had them go to space. I feel like this was a better way to end it though.

Glad you enjoyed the toon - I had thought of doing a second Cthulhu/Dagon cartoon, but I never got around to it. It's definitely not high on my priority list, but it's something I've toyed around with before. Making it a music video to that goofy song isn't really my style - I've tried making a music video or two before, but didn't have good results.

Love it!

Ph'nglui mglw'nafh Cthulhu R'lyeh wgah'nagl fhtagn and apparently making coffee, reading the paper and going on space adventures with Dagon XD.

Battosai810 responds:

The Flavor Out of Space is the coffee can; there's a few little things like that floating around there.

I wanted to write a review, but

I went mad at the mere sight of Cthulhu. I was one of those three people who looked it up and I loved it. I'm a huge Lovecraft fan as well. Oddly enough, for the flash course I took at college, my final piece was an installment of "A Day In The Life" as well. Only, my movie was about a zombie. It's not up because the files corrupted, but if and when... Anyway, great movie. It deserves a place at Miskatonic.

Battosai810 responds:

Hey glad you liked the toon! I hope you got some of the obscure references like "The Flavor out of Space" coffee can.
