What began as a remake of an old game of mine turned out to be a decent sized project that took me months to complete. After a lot of revision and redoing crap, I finally release this game. On 3 different accounts I felt that the game was complete, and then I went right back to the FLA file and made major changes. Here is the final game, hopefully without bugs, with great graphics done by FrozenFire, and with a lot of love in it :)

Gradium has 4 different ships in the game, all of which are very unique. You can use a ship covered with blades to chop your enemies in half, or use a ship with a flamethrower to do massive damage at close range. Each ship has it's own ups and downs, and they each represent a different difficulty. I tried to make the gameplay as varied as I could. There is full voice acting in the game.

So yeah, enjoy :). If you want a few extras check out this link.

It goes over how the game was made, with a few concept sketches.

Also MiniJuegos is an excellent sponsor, and I would recommend him to anyone.

Graphics turned up, put in freaking quality options :/

Except to see a drastically updated version of this game in 3-4 weeks. I'm gonna take into account a lot of the reviews I got.

hard. good game though, i liked the idea of making the difficulty go by ship, you should introduce like, a customize and a parts shop.

I thought about doing that but I felt that the ships themselves were different enough.

In other words, I got lazy. I have so many more ideas now that I want to make a sequel, but I won't be doing that for quite some time.

Fantastic job on this game! I don't know what those other reviewers were smoking when they played this game; this game is MUCH better than people are giving it credit for. I guess people aren't giving this game their time and are only playing the game with a ship they don't like without even checking out the other ones, and that's the best part of the game! The ships are varied greatly; that's something one doesn't usually see in shmups and the designed you picked were frech and inventive.

Nevertheless, there were a few wierd glitches that made the game a bit irritating. For instance, there's always an irritating "booooop, booooop" sound in the background, at random points the framerate goes spastically fast, and the credits don't show, like that other helpful chap already mentioned. And the sound is funky too, but I'm sure you already know that. :P

So yeah! Great job, and don't worry about all the bad reviews. It's fact that this is a very good game.

Thanks. My friend Tim actually came up with a lot of the ideas for the games ships.

I'm going over and seeing if I can take care of the booop glitch. It's such a weird issue and I think I understand why it's there. I hate dealing with sounds in flash. The sounds are the things that are messing everything up, and I just don't know why :P Like, even the super high frame rate for half a second is a bug contributed to the sound. I'm pretty sure I can't fix the spastic frame rate, but I can try to fix the freakin boop boop tommorow.

Thanks for the review.

Welcome to hate bandwagons.

You see everyone rating this game down? Say hello to the hate bandwagon. I feel this game deserves MUCH MUCH more that the pitiful reception that it's receiving here. Four extremely unique ships, with difficulty based on the ship, not on MOAR ENEMIEZ SP@M. Voice acting? I've heard much worse. I loved this game very much and will be coming back to it many. many times. I truly wish there was a score better that 10 and 5 to give it.

But then again, I'm a sucker for side scrolling shooters.:P

Thanks :) I can understand a lot of the criticism I get from the reviews and I'm going to take it in stride, and use it to hopefully make a better project next time.

"You're never as good as people say you are, but you're never as bad as they say you are either"

Not a Bad Concept..

The idea for this game is great, having 4 different ships added diversity to this game. Unfortunately i found the levels a liitle bit too long, and found myself wondering when would it end. :P
I will have to agree with previous reviewers that the voice acting was... bothersome, to say the least. But i acknowledge that you were simply trying to add depth to the game, so i wont hold it against you.
overall, a good game, just needs to be ironed out a bit more.

I got a few of my friends to do the voice acting and I told him to speak loud. I think he went a little overboard and it caused problems in the end XD I've been getting a lot of comments stating the levels are too long. I'll keep that in mind.

And that last statement is true.
