You can't remember the last time you left your room. When you receive a barcode reader in the mail, you discover that the world around you is not what it seems, and must escape the bars of black and white.

"Bars of Black and White" is a game in the room-escape tradition with hand-drawn line art graphics and novel barcode-scanning action. Is the world insane, or is it you?

Amazing, amazing, amazing! Chills!

THIS is a quality art game! You, sir Gregory, are a genius. I got so much chills from this.

The art is so simplistic and rusty and immediately gives off a feeling that something's a little strange. It's all so abstract, when you walk around the house, and the things the character says! Everything he says makes the player feel uncomfortable, but wanting to know more about what's going on. It makes the player feel helpless and confused, just like the character!

And nerve-wracking revelations such as when we find that the "outdoors" was just a picture in front of a window, it makes us further curious, and yet further disturbed.

The ending too; the player finally gets out of the house, and SHOULD feel some form of happiness and freedom, but then the bars come, and the game ends, leaving the player wondering.

And it might just be me, but it kind of made me wonder about life too. Wondering if I'm trapped somewhere like the character in the game and not knowing it.

I have no complaints!! Sheer brilliance! I do hope you make more games!

This game is utterly brilliant. As said as nicolamalfi, the TRUE meaning lies "in between the lines." Great game.
