SPOILERS! since many of you don't understand the ending.
He goes to purchase the gift for his friend, hence the beginning dialogue. When he finally gets back, he sees his girlfriend had purchased a gift beforehand for the often forgotten friend, hence the kiss and wink.

it was ok. the flash was pretty good, and it was funny at the beginning, but the ending just sucked.
