Hi everyone,

Welcome to Rhapsody of Ruin, a semi-canonical story based on the two main characters of CastleVania SOTN (PSX Version), mostly focusing on an over elaborate sprite fight as opposed to actual story telling.

I hope fans of the game enjoy this flash - It's definitely not perfect but I'm still very proud. A huge thank you goes out to everyone who has supported this movie over the years!

good but...

i would of liked it better if the locals wher at the same spots as the diealog is in sotn sine that where the battles at. good video but could of been better

RopeDrink responds:

That made absolutely no sense... If you're on about how the dialogue is used differently to the actual game then what would be fun about just making a carbon copy?

Nice Sprite Battle

This has had so much effort put into it. My favorite part is probably the music during the battle and the ending credits scene it's always great to here Castlevania music. The sprite choices were just great even the backgrounds with most flashes the background sprites are weak (if any) but these ones were nicely chosen. While I'm not as big of a fan for SOTN or ROR but I was a huge Castlevania fan. The sprite battle had great time the entire flash had good pace and sense of timing actually. The voice uses were nice and all the sound effects together sounded just fantastic. The plot was really interesting to read the intro and see it as it moved onward.

The characters talked really fast and the ending wasn't really peaceful.

There really isn't anything to complain about in this though keep up the amazing work this flash has a huge replay effect on us Castlevania fans.

I've watched this flasha number of times.

Ever since finding newgrounds I've watched this flash more times than I can count, I don't know about anyone else, but personally I'm hoping for a sequel, possibly Alucard thrashing his way through the countless denizens of the castle on his quest to find Richter again. Please!!!!!1

RopeDrink responds:

Even I still watch it numerous times out of sheer pride ;) Thanks for the rating and while there may not be a sequel, bare in mind the movie breaks the rules but always intended to stay relatively canon to the true story of CV:SOTN so bare that in mind regarding Alucard and his fate ^^
