Castlevania RoR: Alucard vs Richter

Hi everyone,

Welcome to Rhapsody of Ruin, a semi-canonical story based on the two main characters of CastleVania SOTN (PSX Version), mostly focusing on an over elaborate sprite fight as opposed to actual story telling.

I hope fans of the game enjoy this flash - It's definitely not perfect but I'm still very proud. A huge thank you goes out to everyone who has supported this movie over the years!

This is probably the best SOTN video that i have ever seen lol, great job and i would LOVE to see more. you should think of making a part two or something. AMAZING!

RopeDrink responds:

Thank you - I wouldn't call it the best, to be honest. There's tonnes of CV flash on Newground to enjoy.

Best Sprite Movie I've Seen On This Site

This is quite honestly the best sprite movie I have ever seen on this site so far. Well, I've only seen sprite movies on this site, so it's really the best sprite movie I've ever seen. But is there a sequel, because the only thing I didn't like is it ended on a cliffhanger. A thing that was really good about however, was how it kept you in suspense, for example, I had no idea who was going to win. At first , I was mad because I like Alucard way better than Richter, so I was kind of getting mad that Richter was kicking Alucard's ass in the beginning, so I was really pleased when Alucard won. It's a little bit like watching a championship basketball game, they're tied and in the last few seconds, your favorite team scores and wins. That was the level of excitement I felt. I know that sounds really nerdy but it's true, lol. I think one of my favorite parts was when the smashed into the stairs and broke it, I really found it cool how it was a very subtle reference to the game and the broken stairs leading to where you fight Richter in the game. I also like how the fight ended in the same room where you fight Richter in the game, that was pretty cool.

Overall, amazing sprite movie, but, FOR GOD'S SAKE MAKE A SEQUEL. THE FATE OF HUMANITY DEPENDS ON IT!! (just kidding ;P)

RopeDrink responds:

Thank you - All of that was planned - I wanted it to reference the game - I'm a bit tired of sprite fights or ideas where characters are taken miles away from their environments and fight people which make no sense. This fight is here to give homage to SOTN, not branch away from it.

I'm sorry to say there is no sequel - At the time I ended on a cliff-hanger to see what the interest would be like FOR a sequel - Sadly, this movie is now almost 3 years old and I've not touched FLASH since I stopped making this movie.

You have brought honor back to your clan!

To be blunt, I hate most sprite videos. This one however, was different and it struck some chord with me. I absolutely loved this and I sincerely wish that most sprite videos were like this. MOAR PL0X!!1!!!
