Karoshi:Suicide Salaryman

"Karoshi" is a Japanese word and means "death by overwork". In this game many things are not what you'd expect and the goal of each level is counter-intuitive: you need to die.

Each stage presents a new challenge. There are several objects you can use to solve puzzles, and in later levels the game will even break it's own rules to surprise you.

50 clever levels and a boss fight at the end. We hope you have fun (killing yourself)!

Fun, clever, sick little game, I enjoy it!

Is Gerald Venbrux in the same Family as Jesse Venbrux? Gerald made the music for this game, and Jeese made the game itself!

An interesting concept. The idea of a meta-puzzler is pretty common now, but back in 2008? It was practically unheard of.

The puzzles themselves are not that difficult, though do have some unique ideas. However, quite a few of the puzzles in this game are reflex or time-based. There is nothing wrong with having a few reflex puzzles of course, but when it makes up the majority of the puzzles it gets to be a bit much, taking all the skill out of figuring out the puzzle itself and turning it into a game of, "How quickly can I destroy my spacebar?"

The art style is extremely simplistic, though with this type of puzzle game the player is rarely looking at their avatar anyway, so not that noticeable. It almost gives it a certain charm, really.

The music works. It may not have been the most appropriate choice, though it is still decent music on it's own.

The game is okay. Not terrific, but still good. There are a lot of interesting ideas, but a number of these are marred by an excessive amount of reflex-based puzzles. But, credit where credits due, this game was unique, and was one of the pioneers for the meta-puzzle sub-genre, the influence still visible to this day.

I like this game because it has great puzzles and is generally awesome. only wish that there was a walkthrough for the harder levels. otherwise, five star game! love the derpy expression on the guy's face!

Great concept. Bit fustrating at points.

But overall good game!
