Golly this's bin on my PC for a while. I came up with the idea late 2007: /bbs/topic/803994
I dragged it up again for the MaxGames contest.

THANK JESUS FOR THE MUSIC AUTHORS. This game is pretty shit without audio. About 75% of it's all downloadable for free on the left o the screen there, all Newgrounds Audio artists. Check out for the rest, it's a damn treasure trove. Also this is the first time I've made my own sound effects for a game. PRETTY SLICK.

Also hey, be aware that this game'll save your progress. All the money, times and stages you've unlocked will be saved so you can come back to it later. Magic init? I remember back in my day- We didn't even have gradients! And you had to type 58 lines of script just to make a movie stop.

Oh, and I've ran out of money. So if you could all vote five on this one, that'd be grand.

Great game

I'm not gonna lie, it's pretty buggy in some places.

However, I would totally love to see a sequel to this game some time. Maybe you could have a storyline and some event-specific animations for helping each other out (like say, one person grabbing onto a rope while the other pulls it up). And keep the 8bit feel, there's nothing wrong with that.

This gets an 8 because of the glitches.

I-smel responds:

Yeah, I want to update it, but the rules for Newgrounds say I'd SACRIFICE ALL PRIZES AND TROPHIES, so I guess I'll wait a while.

I was trying to think of event-specific parts, but it's hard. At first the game had a story where the two guys were mathematically precise geniouses who were robbing a bank, and you had to keep your timing perfect. They'd do the heist, then go through the sewer, then onto the street and up some buildings. Have you ever tried telling a story through background art though? It's fuckin well ard.

Oh and once I thought about having a story where they're two mechanics who fix collossal machines. That was too vague though.

But with some major glitches you've already been informed of. I found it hard too, but that's probably cause it is 1 AM and I'm fucking tired.
Good work.

Suprisingly good!

Usually games made by Max Games are crap! but not this one.

It's a good game.

I would of given it 10 stars but when I was playing this game and when I switched over to the other stick dude it got jammed up while was moving the screen to view him.

But still it was a really good game and I liked it and enjoy it, keep up the good work.

Enjoyable, with some minor issues.

Okay, i have a little left and right here.
It's a good game, and it's very nicely done. The music is fitting (slightly annoying, but fitting) and it controls smoothly most of the time.
Though, i gave you 8 for a reason,

Well, first of all, the "Run to the hills" level is VERY hard, which wouldn't be a problem on itself, but the controls are not smooth ENOUGH here.
When i tried to do the left-right wall jumps, it sometimes made me jump into the air, and i had to get VERY close to the edges before pressing down would make one help the other up the edge (if that makes any sense.) Which lead to frustration.
Give the edge a little more, so that you are able to use that ability, without nearly falling off the edge. Also, the reaction time on the wall jump is slightly (Do i dare say it?) too fast, so it make you jump too much upwards, and too little outwards if you are in a stressed position.
Anyway, generally a good game, and from me, 4/5 and 8/10
