Golly this's bin on my PC for a while. I came up with the idea late 2007:
http://www.newgrounds.com /bbs/topic/803994
I dragged it up again for the MaxGames contest.

THANK JESUS FOR THE MUSIC AUTHORS. This game is pretty shit without audio. About 75% of it's all downloadable for free on the left o the screen there, all Newgrounds Audio artists. Check out 8bitpeoples.com for the rest, it's a damn treasure trove. Also this is the first time I've made my own sound effects for a game. PRETTY SLICK.

Also hey, be aware that this game'll save your progress. All the money, times and stages you've unlocked will be saved so you can come back to it later. Magic init? I remember back in my day- We didn't even have gradients! And you had to type 58 lines of script just to make a movie stop.

Oh, and I've ran out of money. So if you could all vote five on this one, that'd be grand.

This game is great. But I have one complaint. Blue and Black are nice colors, but depending on your monitor settings, and especially if you have a flatscreen, black is sometimes RIDICULOUSLY hard to see. Maybe change his color to red or something?

Otherwise good gameplay... though I will state that these graphics are actually pre-8 bit era. It's more like the 2-bit/4-bit era, back in the days of Atari. If only they had these programming skills back then... this could have been a great game.

I-smel responds:

Yeah, I only had so much space for a description and "8bit" has less letters in it than "over-pixelated graphics". I know it's not 8bit but it gets the point across.

I don't know what kind of monitor you have but that's the first time I've heard a complaint like that.

That was a pretty sick game. I seriously haven't thought of a game like that before. I noticed some bugs, but apparently some other people have too. It was just so addicting, keep it up.

Good Game but bugs..

I was going through underwood when all of a sudden it froze on me and i had to restart my computer.

Some bugs I've found

Great game, but the bugs killed a lot of the playablillity. I wouldn't have mind the smaller bugs if it weren't for run 2 the hills, where they are the main source of death. I had to play that level about five times to even finish it, so that's a shame.

Here are some of the bugs I have found:
In Run 2 the hills the button-activated launcher stays active for a second after you step off of the launcher. This way I managed to trap one of my characters in the compartment that gets closed shut when the ladder rises up from the ground.

In Shaft you get stuck on terrain all the time.

In credits, just after the first button, I had my blue guy stay behind, and when the button was pressed I let him fall into the hole and switched characters. When I did that, he assumed the hanging position in mid air and stayed floating where he was when I switched characters. Then I had my guy step off of the button, and the terrain came back down, over my character that was stuck in mid-air, and the entire game crashed.

The criteria for pulling someone up to a ledge are too sensitive. You have to walk so closely to the edge you often fall back off of the ledge. This isn't such a problem, normally, since you can just climb back up using your partner. But on Run 2 the hills this is such an annoyance.

In 3's a crowd, if you press right after being launched you zoom up the ledges without having to jump or anything.

That's the ones I can remember.
