The sequel is now up on Newgrounds - you can check it out by selecting the 'also by this author' in the bottom left.

A brand new version of the card game The Necronomicon, with a new game mode, and full of new art drawn up by various contributors. There are now 30 ranks to beat, and the game ends when either you get to 30 before your opponent, or they beat you up to rank 30.

Bug fixes, game changes and tweaks, and a whole new game mode called Challenge Mode. Defeat the opponent in a series of scenarios where the odds are stacked against you.

Also includes some rule changes and creatures now have additional abilities.

** NEW - . - MASSIVE update to how the cards are dealt out. Basically what happens now in the fix is that you both have a deck of whatever amount of cards are unlocked, and each card will be seen once by each of you. There will be no duplicate cards appearing until your deck has been exhausted and shuffled, and so the only dups you will see are the cards you held from the previous shuffle. Makes everything much more balanced.

Bad Design

Nicely done, but horribly produced as there really isn't any strategy involved.

Good game, but...

... it has the same problems like the first one. I played #1 lots of times and know how to play, but in 10 out of 11 rounds in 2.0, the computer gets better cards than me.
It seems the computer gets always more DD-spellcards, taint-spellcards and when I am so lucky to beat him under 10 LP, he cast 5 healing-cards round after round.
What should the player do against this? Spam with creatures or just cast "blacksmith", which I usually get?

I like this game very much, but you need to configure your own deck of cards. Otherwise its to frustrating.
Maybe like a different form like Magic the Gathering, just without lands.
Min. 40 Cards and max. 4 out of each. But the cards the player want so different strategies can be developed and its a chance to get non-junk-cards ;)

Somehow is just doesn't feel as good as the origional. Okay, it plays a little faster and it seems a little more balenced with damages, but its still down to pure luck as to what cards you get and sometimes the cards draws you get just make it plain impossible to win, perhaps more so then the first one. I also don't like the new art, it doesn't seem right. Obviously you had to change it because of the copyright issues you didn't get the right to the origional works... but still, you could have found something better then that couldn't you?
