The sequel is now up on Newgrounds - you can check it out by selecting the 'also by this author' in the bottom left.

A brand new version of the card game The Necronomicon, with a new game mode, and full of new art drawn up by various contributors. There are now 30 ranks to beat, and the game ends when either you get to 30 before your opponent, or they beat you up to rank 30.

Bug fixes, game changes and tweaks, and a whole new game mode called Challenge Mode. Defeat the opponent in a series of scenarios where the odds are stacked against you.

Also includes some rule changes and creatures now have additional abilities.

** NEW - . - MASSIVE update to how the cards are dealt out. Basically what happens now in the fix is that you both have a deck of whatever amount of cards are unlocked, and each card will be seen once by each of you. There will be no duplicate cards appearing until your deck has been exhausted and shuffled, and so the only dups you will see are the cards you held from the previous shuffle. Makes everything much more balanced.

wow man!!!!!

this just outright blew my mind..... for a couple minutes at least, the games concepts and cards were right on the money (except for the lack of zombies and Cthulu) could really use more cards though, including Cthulu. i mean COME ON MAN, ITS CTHULU!!!!

and also to my understanding, is the entire concept of the game just two random guys, standing around in the street, summoning hell on each other and blowing each others faces of?

Really good

Nice mechanics and good art and sound. It was a bit low on strategic thinking, especially in the challenges, some of which seemed to consist only of the AI not drawing any damage cards. I really miss a deck builder, if only to see what's in my deck. In the challenges I guess that was part of the game, but in the story mode it was hard to tell whether to hope for a top decking or just quit. Enabling such planning ahead would even further increase the value of an already great game.

Damn it, it's about time someone did Lovecraft justice with a tribute such as this. I've played this game since it first appeared, and only now did I think to leave a comment. Plowking - good job.
Good graphics, creepy background music and drive-you-nuts challenges make this one wicked card game.
Any other games in the works?
