My entry for the Nine Inch Nails 'Ghosts' film festival. A few months ago the band made a video for youtube asking anyone to pick a track off their new album (Ghosts), make visuals for it, and upload it back to youtube. The album consists of 36 instrumental tracks. There are no rules, people can do anything they want in any way, and send it back in. So far it has been very succesful and there are about 1300 videos. I think there are still a few months to go. Once it has ended, the videos that the band like most of all will be picked out, and shown at a sort of film festival.
I chose Flash as my medium, and used the first track from the album.

i got to say, you're the first person i've seen to submit a flash cartoon of the experimental film project by NIN. unless there are others that i've not seen before.
the idea behind it that goes along w/ the music was perfect. and the mood was right. the only problem was the part where the door was opening to the outside world. it would've been better. that's all i have on there. excellent job on this.
thank you very much. I definitely agree with you about the door shot. this was also a project for college, and i ended up with one day to make the whole 2nd half! This, of course, meant zero sleep, which admitedly did result in some lazy shots. hehe :)

Loved the movie as much as i loved NIN, good luck in the contest and let us know how it turns out.
But next time you might wanna be consistent with y'r line thicknesses, cuz the thin lines were perfect for y'r style, but then there was a shot of the man's face where he had his hand on his cheek, those had noticably thicker lines.

Thanks muchly. Yes, I agree about the lines. I have a tendancy to change styles in the middle of projects, or just on certain shots. In earlier animations it was a lot worse, so hopefully it will get better with time :)

I truly liked it. I use to listen to NIN all the time and im sure your video will be apreated. What i got out of it is the man in the room he is the ghost. A ghost is real the man is real but he, he is not a man because he is no longer a part of the world of the living. He himself metaphoricly is a ghost. He longs for life outside of his self inflicted death but he is traped by a driving force that conpelles him to stay. Brilliant. I want to see more films like this one

pretty good stuff. it's interesting to see an animation; the vast majority of entries have been straight video. In fact I did a video entry for the same track :P
