Eulogy For 'Soundwave'

This entry was blammed by our users.

Here is its eulogy, a collection of the kind words written about it while still among the living. They shall live on forever in its place.

Great simple concept, a new twist on the helicopter games. the graphics were simple, but they fitted the game perfectly. It ran smoothly even though it had tons of fliters.
great job!

I set the 100% record on Center of Existence :O

I think you should enable click, I prefer click over space bar myself.

I liked the game, wasn't bad, but it's too similar to the heli game just as Jetman is.
I like that you incorporated music into it, though I dislike the loading times, major turn off. Overall, not a bad game.

I really like the idea of making flash rythm based games. Thanks AS3 can do it. I hope you will keep improving your game.
Heh, BTW I made the record of 101% on the first song just now.

Must-have for the "Music" collection...

This is a brilliant twist to the classic "Helicopter" formula...
Really good work on design... The main part is now workin´.
If somethin´ could be improved, it would be (apart from fixing the "add music" feature." trying to raise the framerate a bit, and designing a variety of visual styles for more eye-candy pleasure (Example: changing glows for pulsating/vibrating lines... Get some ideas from PSP "Lumines" or PSOne "VibRibbon".)
Hope to see this developing further... But if not, It´s great as it is now anyway.
Excellent work.

I have a slight problem when playing this game.

Nothing Happens. All there is when the songs finish loading is the white line appears and then I go through the whole song with no music and the only thing I can avoid is 2 lines, 1 on top and 1 on bottom.

Please Help
5/10 for the nice art

I like it. There are some problems like you cant do immediate restarts, and it few times the screen became black and i could do nothing.

Very Interesting

Using music to derrive a level, and playing it in the level's background... A very interesting concept. Because the movement is so rigidly controlled by the level, there's little point in including sound effects for movement.

It's excellent that the level is generated deterministically (or at least gives that impression by remembering the level created.) I've noticed that some songs don't yet have 100%'s on them, so the generator may create impossibilities, though I didn't see any while looking through it.

I try to avoid key-release events because they tend to be a bit more unreliable than others, but I didn't have much trouble with them here.

The graphics are of course pretty awesome looking, even if their simplistic. Could use some sort of dark background imagry, but the black works very well with the neon, so no complaints.

Forcing a click to begin the level would avoid the annoying no-focus issue. On a related note if you could put in a restart level option rather than poping out to the music select screen that might speed up play nicely.

Of course a more solid reward system might be nice, but it's rather hard to implement one given the open ended nature of the game - And I'm just assuming since the game is pretty hard =]

Good job with this one.
