The last stand was my favorite flash game, and this sequel is just as good. I like the new searching system, and the map system. Really enhances the feeling. One flaw dropped this to nine. When a zombie gets close to you after the barricade is destroyed, your shots sort of miss him, even tho' you're pointing directly at him. This REALLY pissed me off. Great game nonetheless.
Great game, very fun. I would give it five stars if it had some achievements to work toward.
first one was better [ok]
if you are like me you like to take a long time playing games and i like to beat as much as i can and in this game you have only 40 days so that just screws everything up
Great game, but needs improvement
By far one of the best flash based games I've come across. However, there are some things that tend to zap the fun out of the game play at times. One of the most frustrating things that happen is the instant survivor death that takes place. The fact that the survivors don't do much to defend themselves makes it all the more frustrating. They don't move nor do they shoot until the zombies are close. Sometimes when they begin to shoot, it's too late and the weapon wielding zombie will already be hacking away at them. Sometimes I feel as if they are no help at all, and other times I felt they were essential to survival. It's sort of hit and miss. I remember a time when one of the survivors fired only 2 shots during an entire battle. The rest of the time he just crouched there pointing his gun at the hoard of zombies doing absolutely nothing. Also some of the zombies take alot of bullets to put them on the ground. I've emptied an entire uzi clip into a regular zombie ( not a bullet proof vest zombie) and still had to hit them with a couple of additional rounds to ground them. Aiming for the head kills them faster, but is hard to do and impractical when you have dozens of "runners" coming at your barricade. I also wish that the survivors killed would be there when you restart the battle after you die All in all it's a fun challenging game that will eventually have you screaming obscenities at your monitor. ;)
I think the traveling took away from the repetitive feeling for me. And how you need to learn where to search to find what weapons. This one also does not feel as long because of the days spent traveling, and because you don't need to spend all 40 days playing. All you need to do is get to Union City.
A little more animated: Zombies no longer move in straight lines towards the player. Traps are a handy way to slow their forces, and survivers are not only re-equippable, they are more trigger happy too.
The thing that bothered me was that the zombies would disappear after being defeated. I know that erasing the level from unused animations helps the game run smoother/faster, but it took away from the realism for me.
I do have one suggestion for if you decide to make another. Since I noticed that zombies are capable of reaching over the barricade and killing your survivors, maybe dead survivors could come back as zombies on your side ove the barricade posing as an added threat? Just something to think about.
