its great. ONe thing you missed out though is the mouse. Just put
onClipEvent (enterFrame) {
Mouse.hide();
}
other wise, good :D
Learn about making gun aimers. I hope this helps and enjoy!

things to include
its not bad, and it taught me well...
but you could mention how dragging an object so the middle's on the +, basically centers it, and it could be longer,
say you might want to teach us how to make a shooter game based with both of those techniques included, that'd be awesome and upp marks
Definately Needs some work.. but a good start
I think this tutorial was a bit brief, and lacking.
It was missing a few things...
i especially didn't like the fact that i was viewing a tut where the crosshair wasn't even centered to the mouse... it gave the feeling that you didn't know what you were doing.
Also, when i read 'tutorial' i REALLY didn't expect to find a copy-and-paste code inside. And you used such simple code, the part where you get the crosshair to move/animate isn't what people want to learn. That part is easy. If you have experience in these games, you should have taught on how to make the crosshair interact with moving targets. Also your demonstration crosshairs were kinda buggy... like the fact that the bullet should leave the crosshair after you shoot, not follow the crosshair 'till it goes away.
I KNOW you can do better... but this looks like it was done in a matter of minutes. I also expected it to be a bit longer than a few frames as well...
Keep it up, good tutorials are revered by all, but when it comes down to learning flash, an ok~ tutorial usually doesn't cut it. Because here, on Newgrounds, nobody likes to see an ok~ flash. Newgrounders make FUKN AWESOEM flash :D
Hope i was help. And please remember; i'm not trying to flame you, man. I'm just another Newgrounder trying to pass along some advice. So keep up the work, i hope you succeed in the flash world :)
Needs work
It's not really a tutorial as it is a "copy and paste this code"
Plus you're examples are wrong because the center of the crosshair doesn't line up with the cursor. You need to make reference to the 0,0 points of the movie clips.
Ya learn something new everyday.
Very informative. i'm not too familiar with this sort of thing so it doesnt help me too much but it is interesting.
