This game is one part Geometry Wars and one part Asteroids, however, Asteroids plays much smoother than this, in honesty, and to have a lasting game, you need to have good controls. I think the "idea" of retro may have effected how you determined the effectiveness of the controls or the frame rate, because asteroids never played this choppy.

I am sorry to the people who like this but, the controls SUCK! i had to use that "sonic boom" thing to actually hurt something. message to the creator: make a sequel with better aiming so i can attack. I NEED MOUSE AIMING WITH A CROSSHAIR!

If I could find a control scheme that was easy to use. WASD and Arrow Keys seems to work the best, but there's still not a whole lot of control. You need to work on making a less steep learning curve to the controls, otherwise the average person won't want to play it. I myself have a hard time making it past the first boss. It's not that I suck at these types of games because I get insanely high scores in Geometry Wars Retro Evolved 2, but the controls are just so hard to use.
