Demithyst Part 5

Author Comments

Understanding Victor London is not as simple as knowing his past... After nearly two years of blah blah (read the blog on www.demityst.com), I give you another Demithyst Episode, this time also humourless, but more disturbing and upsetting than the previous four.
Leave this submission alone if you want a laugh or a manga jig, the intention is to tell a story not to impress anyone.
For the fans, all 12 of them, enjoy and thanks for the support.

Neat transitions

Good Stuff, the transitions are neat, clearly a major improvement on the still graphics i also like the last part you rendered the jets/spaceships.. nice one

Nice as Always

it is great in all aspects!!!!(except maybe graphx)
you should seriously think about animating the mouths of the characters, i think your going for a comic feeling but if the surroundings move but characters mouths dont whent talking it looks kinda wrong.

with that said i think the story is going in a great direction. 4.5/5 9/10

Great to hear from you again, MM.

I fully agree with what you're saying, and Part 6 (when it EVENTUALLY surfaces) will probably more styled in the same way that Part 4 was. Part 4 did take a year to do (on and off), and part 5 took only around 2 months (can't remember how much of it was active work), but this Part 6 thing is already taking much longer than Part 5 and all I have so far are some 3D shots of an airborne chase and a lot of voice over work for the rest. So, wish me luck. It's ONLY the fans of this series (all 6 of them) that still make me do this.

Thank you for your support.

Worth the wait!

Good to see part five finally up and on Newgrounds!

This installment was rather creepy...the sound effects when they showed London locked up made it feel like evil was just radiating off of him, heh. Awesome voice acting, and I love the blend of animation styles.

Can't wait for the next episode. Keep on trucking, heh. Us dedicated fans will be waiting as long as it takes. :-D

LeonardRawles responds:

Thanks Slash. You've always been a great supporter of this and I owe a lot of this to you.

Solid Story

I rated you on your story line, and not on the graphics and animation. I liked the story the best, the graphics only add to the experience. I truly like what you're doing and I hope you continue. I'm excited to see the next scenario!

LeonardRawles responds:

Thanks - then I have achieved my goal - the graphics are just a tool to tell a story. Some people use a half baked story to satisfy their need to simply produce graphics.
I hope I can meet your expectations with regard to the upcoming Part 6.

wow... o.o

I havent seen the first four, but this definately makes me want to.
I'm curious about what programs were used though, because the buildings look like they were done with some 3D program, not Flash. The voices are real rough, and a little unclear, but I think it fits the setting well.

LeonardRawles responds:

Hiya - thanks for the review. To answer your question:
Buildings, vehicles and backdrops done with 3D Studio Max. I used version 3 - its all I got, and i have not been able to learn to use Blender as quickly as Max, and the emphasis is on speed when i do these things.
Audio editing on Audacity.
Music done with Reason 4.
All 2D graphics done in Gimp, and obviously Flash to put it all together.
Operating system is Linux - Ubuntu 7.10 Gutsy, with Virtual Box to run Reason and 3D Studio, and Wine to run Flash 8.
