Funny story, I worked on this for a long time putting alot of hours into it, and it was about my home town of denton and it is being torn apart by "the man" (well this man is not very good). When I was making it, I made careful consideration into portability into other games.
So thus a flash game rpg engine and for everyone I have released the entire fla for this at my site, so it you want to go get it, it's all yours. The instructions on how to manipulate the source are in the ideas and concepts page of denton the game.
So go look at the documentation, oh by the way sorry the guys are naked, I was working on an inventory system where you could equip clothes for armor and other stat boosts.

You are the scooter guy who rides around in denton.
Alright controls:
In world mode:
Left and right to turn the scooter.
Up to accelerate and down to decelerate.
Click on the Man icon in the upper right hand corner to access stats.
Inventory:
Click on the bag in the upper left hand corner to access inventory. In trade mode open traders bag and your bag and drag items into the trade bag to sell and drag items into the backpack to buy.
Battle:
Space to punch and arrow keys to move around.

I know this isn't a game and it isn't a movie, but I'm sure alot of people would use it to make something good so gimmie all ya fives if you think this is a good idea!
Oh and sorry if you go past the road blocks you will get to the white screen! I'll fix this the speed of the scooter was too fast and the road blocks are too skinny so they don't properly "collide" with each other.

I see you have some coding experience, but you didn't bother to polish the demo up, and honestly, this doesn't seem like a very useful engine. I'll check the site, though, giving you the benefit of the doubt.

it's a pretty good game.. i see it took you some time. But one thing is... the items wont go onto my guy.. could you fix that?

I can tell you put a lot of effort into this. But it wasn't very good effort. You need to pay more attention to individual aspects of the game. For example, the graphics do not look at all good together, even when they're good. The combat system is ridiculous. It's way too easy to get stuck. I was hidden behind the back pack for the first, like, minute.
Refine absolutely everything. a lot. And then try again.
