Over a year later, I updated the game with some changes! Most notable is that the game should run a bit faster now, particularly in the later stages (4, 5, and Extra) The stages also no longer have to be unlocked, though you should still play them in order!

Ether has a few new maneuvers as well, pressing Spacebar will turn her attack on until you press it again, this should make things a lot easier if you're trying to play both characters by yourself. You can also now hold down X to slow her movement speed.

Alien forces are invading! Join four heroes as they blast across the solar system in the most intense flash shoot em up ever!

Game Features:

7 stages of non-stop action
Two-player simultaneous play
Full voice acting
Tons of bosses

Player 1 (FX) controls: Mouse to move, Left click to shoot

Player 2 (Ether) controls: Arrows or WASD to move, CTRL, Z, Spacebar, or Enter to shoot. X to move slower

Press L to toggle quality

This game is very processor intensive, medium quality recommended, low for older computers.

If you really need to pause, right click the game and uncheck play

Full voice cast:

FX: D-Mac
Ether: Candi Santora
Astra: Sasuya
Trinoka and XS: Althea Aseoche
Seven: Rina-chan
Nemor: CarlHyperweevil

Good game

First off, let me say, I loved the huge homage to the Touhou Project games with the theme of that extra stage. I managed to beat it after finishing lunatic mode and it was a very enjoyable challenge.

Anyways, you have some really great boss design, they were each done very well. I enjoyed how the stages tended to have a little "gimmick" to them to make things interesting, like the sub-boss in the asteroid field and an ally occasionally popping in to kick some ass.

Despite that, I have a few suggestions for how to make the next game a little better:
- There needs to be a better contrast between the background scene and the action. Level 4 in particular was confusing because enemy bullets would blend in with the armada in the background and when the sub boss started firing his laser at me off screen, I didn't realize I was getting hurt because his later looked very similar to the ones I had seen earlier in the background.
- The player's hit box seemed bigger than the sprite. In these kinds of games, you should usually err on the side of a smaller hit box. It made the large number of (homing) bullets throughout some of the later stages on Lunatic mode nearly impossible to dodge accurately.
- A pause feature would be VERY welcome. Or even some sort of "press any button to continue" thing between stages and after dying would be nice. After dying several times, I wanted to take a break without losing my progress or score but that wasn't possible and was a bit frustrating.
- An online leaderboard.

Keep up the good work!

One gay problem

No Pause.

Everything else is great. I really like your AI ideas. The enemies are unique. The backgrounds gets a little annoying something but its still great.

I played normal mode and I was gone with the first shot of the mid boss battle. Very cool. Just need some power ups or health floating around.
