PLEASE WATCH EPISODE 1 BEFORE WATCHING THIS.
NEWGROUNDS.COM/ portal /view /417311
A criminal took Red (Member of the Police Department using "The device") his wife as a hostage.
In exchange for his wife, he wants Red's device.
But Red can't release the device because of the conditions (His adrenaline level is too high).
Stay tuned for further episodes!
While the animation wasn't the best I've seen, you are good at conveying an emotion. I think you should try to expand on that. It's so rare in a flash movie (or even a Hollywood movie) to dread the death of one of the main characters. In this I really didn't want her to die, and I never feel that usually.
Don't listen to some of these reviews. People don't realize we are trying to make simple flash movies by ourselves without some kind of production team, so they pick every little detail apart.
Good luck on the next ones!
Thanks, I appreciate your review.
You explain yourself really well, and that motivates me to do something better.
Again, thank you. I'll mind about the emotional thing being good.
Like a bad movie...
Don't get me wrong, the animation was fine, but I thought that the idea was such a good one that I suppose I was a little let down by the storyline in this episode. I mean, if 5 cops can't stop a deranged ex-user with this ultimate device, how the hell could he destroy a city with it? And after he killed Red's wife, where the Hell did the other cops bugger off to? The criminal's lost his only protection, he has no hostage, just kill the bastard.
Oh, and while the rest of the voice acting was good, the monotone of the captain was pretty laughable.
I'll be interested to see what the next episode's like, but I hope to hell the device isn't as useless as it seemed to be here.
How bout some equivalent exchange?
Does the device follow those rules?
He shoulda got his wife back by using his brains.
I don't mean to sound like an idiot, but...
couldn't Red have just turned that bad dude's head into a watermelon or something? With a melon for a head, one would find it difficult to pull a gun trigger.
The thing I like most about this series so far is the title. "Conditions" (adrenaline/being alive/etc...) it's a great idea. I like the story, you just need to improvise more on the technicalities (did I phrase that right?).
Just make an excuse like, "I couldn't do it... I have a deadly fear of watermelons! If only I could've overcome that fear... If only I could've saved my wife!" -- you're free to use that by the way. It would be nice to mention me in the comment if you do. LOL
ALSO- ur animation is fine the way it is. don't go changin' 5/5
Seems a bit ambitious.
I like the way you are pointing with this; weapons system gone wrong or abused, and while not a truly original idea, it still remains a thought-provoking subject. However, the story could use a couple of detail changes, for one, the device shouldn't be a weapons system, the ability to freely move matter around, or condense it into any device imaginable, seems more the premise of a construction tool or the technology behind(if the matter condensation principle can be reverse-engineered) a teleportation device. People seem generally more willing to accept a new breakthrough in technology if said breakthrough is something to aide humanity, not to create another killing device. Also, such a device that has such capabilities will probably leave very few situations that they couldn't get out of, and it would take someone with a staggering lack of imagination to see surrendering device as the only option. Maybe take the time to elaborate on how the device could possibly work, is it a hydrogen-powered magnetic field, a controlled-density gravity field? Animation and voice acting could also do some work, but are good nonetheless, it is the writing and story outline that could use more makeup.
Subpar is haunted by an evil spirit on Halloween night!
A short animation about some glorious ice creams
