This submission isn't related to the holidays, but it's my gift to the Clock Crew, as I just realized the other day that I've only made one Clock movie this year.

This was a self-challenge. I gave myself two days to make an animation to this entire segment of music. I couldn't use any tweens and I had to hand-draw everything (without using automated lines and text). I also had to keep that same background image and use only a single solid color.
It was fun. And I hope you enjoy it.

**NOTE FOR USERS ON SLOWER COMPUTERS: Try lowering the quality settings (which can be done on the drop-down right-click menu). It will allow flash to perform better if your computer is slow, thus making the animation smoother.

Great hand drawing

Like the guy below me i was never really into clocks

Nice transitions

Very short, but you can tell a lot of effort was put forth by the artist. Deeper and more interesting than most clock fare.

how the clock crew slogan you used at the end is 'self expression at its finest' when really if you're a clock crew member you're not allowed all the virtues of self expression as you are represented by a symbol with a clock face and your name must end with 'clock'. It's probably the least self expressing crew out there, as you must conform to be a part. And if not, well then a shit load do conform anyways.

Anyways the movie was great. Awesome fbf, nice textured background, a little short and i don't tend to like clock movies as most of them basically just revolve around 'the greatness of being a clock' but at least this one was visually interesting.

What's the point of the title?

The art was nice, and the challenge you put on yourself shows your skill as an animator, but it was far too short to be very interesting, and I don't understand why the title is "Symphony." The music was clearly not a symphony, and the myriad changes and evolutions of a clock doesn't really relate to a symphony. I guess you just picked symphony because it sounded cool, or maybe you were going for a really strange, deep insight of how self-expression and the expected dissonance of artist contribution meld together into the coherence of a symphony.

Eh whatever, I liked it.

ToadClock responds:

A symphony is a large and usually quite lengthy sonata designed for many instruments rather than just a few. It usually involves an entire orchestra with many different unique instruments that all make different sounds. All these different sounds, some rather unpleasant if heard alone (like the dull low throb of the trombone or the loud vibrating clash of the cymbal) while others absolutely beautiful alone(strings and pianos), all work together to produce a final even more beautiful result, usually a very powerful piece of music.

It's a metaphor.
