lolololololol

lol that was hilarious, the only thing wrong is the audio i think

In all of your movies I've watched...

there has been the same audio issue. The "pops" you hear every time a sound file starts playing and stops playing detract from your work (I notice it most with the dialog. It's like a cue that a line of dialog is about to begin). You put a lot of time and effort into these animations and there is no reason to not take care of this easily fixed issue. I don't know what program you use to record the audio but even the simplest audio editors allow you to process fades. What you need to be doing is a simple, linear "fade in" of a small fraction of a second at the beginning of the audio clip (.1 or .05 sec max, adjust fade duration as needed) and a fade out at the end (short duration for the fade out, in fact these fades can be extremely short as long as they slope the waveform down to 0 amplitude). So when a file starts playing it should start at 0 amplitude and end at 0 amplitude. Another idea: it might be due to your recording procedure. Do you actually turn the mic power or the input, etc, on and off when recording? Because it does sound like a voltage spike that can occur when turning the power on and off. It's obvious that your microphone is a cheap consumer mic but that is NOT the problem. It's completely adequate for the type of thing you are doing. It's all about doing some simple edits, specifically the fade ins and fade outs which will eliminate that popping noise. If the pop is part of the waveform then just cut it out and then fade the end segments. So if you like your recording technique for creative purposes that's fine. Just go in afterwards and clean it up (doesn't take long to do what I'm talking about). One other thing that might be amplifying the pop is if you have a DC offset issue. Using fades can compensate for the offset but if you have the ability to "correct DC offset" you might want to check into it. Trust me, it will be worth the effort for you to correct this problem. Clean audio WILL raise your score. You may know all about this popping issue and don't care or what but please take my advice to heart because I dig your completely, ludicrously revolting and hilarious work. I'm an audio engineer and would be willing to elaborate on this if you want more explanation/advice on this particular problem or just wish to discuss audio in general. Feel free to PM me... keep up the outrageous work. Bowl of Soup III! I'm looking forward to it. I'm sure you'll up the ante and out-shock part 2 and if you release BoS 3 with the popping issue fixed I will be very pleased and will e-mail the link to my friends, family and colleagues. One other audio idea: If you have the ability to process noise reduction on your audio clips I would recommend some mild noise reduction. I'm going to stop or else I will write to the limit. I have sound design experience and can offer constructive artistic criticism and tips in addition to technical advice. Start thinking about ambient, environmental sound beds. It could help to mask the rawness of your self-recorded audio. Best of luck!

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAH GENIOUS
