** UPDATE (02/01/08): Yay! Age of War finished first in the maxgames contest! You can check all the rankings there:

To thank you guys, I fixed some bugs:
The 3rd special is longer, and wont stay forever if you die usign it
The final turret should no more reach the ennemy base
The special wont reload when paused
I reduced the damage of the double turrets a little

Thats it for now. Ill release some information on my next game soon on my website:
**YEAHHH thanks for the monthly voting!!! Wooot i love you all!

press space to pause the game

*Added difficulty choice when you start the game
*I think I fixed the invicible unit bug, sorry for the inconvenient

Take control of 16 different units and 15 different turrets to defend your base and destroy your ennemy.
In this game, you start at the cavern men's age, then evolve! There is a total of 5 ages, each with its units and turrets. I hope you have fun with this game! Sooo many hours of hard work.

Thanks to CyprusX who made many units to help me to make it in time for the contest. You rock man!

Age of war is a game that takes place in a universe where Napoleonic-era warfare is the norm for all races, creeds, and civilizations. ("Just sit there and take your bullets, you bitch!") Which is basically how I almost won. It was basically ten solid minutes of
"MELEE TROOP, MELEE TROOP, MELEE TROOP, AGE ADVANCE, MELEE TROOP. " Because every kill gives you enough money to buy another melee troop, plus a little extra.(Really helped that melee troops were the only thing worth buying.) So I wound up with an ever-growing army of melee troops. It didn't even matter how many melee troops it took to kill a heavy troop, because I always made money.

I can't help but think I would've won if I hadn't blown a bunch of money on the next-to-last melee troops. Or maybe I was simply overwhelmed by the enemy's infinite money and blatant cheating. And I still almost won. The point is -this-, came out the same year as fuckin' Sonny, okay? And is considered as good as Sonny. . . No, It isn't.

Maybe this idea has potential, I don't know, I'm not a "tower defense" guy, but if you fix the prices, how you progress through ages, clean up the graphics, maybe make the bad guys a different color from the good guys (any differences at all really) and we'll see.

Hey, look a sequel.

It's incredible how such a simple game can be so addicting. The music gives the game a dramatic feeling like you really are defending your homeland from an invasion. The advances through time help to keep the game from getting stale and changes the look enough to keep your interested to see what's next. The graphics are basic but detailed enough to look like the creator put effort into making it. My only problem with the game is that once you reach the modern day stage if you buy enough turrets the game is basically yours. The guns are you strong enemy's can't even reach your base and it ruins any tension or suspense. It becomes way too easy. Overall it's a great game with a minor flaw.
