Take the role of a medic officer on the field, performing new-found surgical techniques. Perform four different surgeries using 11 different tools. Get your patient drunk with alcohol to numb the pain, then go at it! Similiar to Trauma Center, if you ever played those games (which I recommend :)). This game is extremely violent, so heed the several warnings please.

*This game is processor intensive. It may lag at times, but note it'll be okay. If it isn't, then change the quality during one of your surgeries.
*The more drunk your patient is, the easier it will be to keep him alive. Get some liquor into that guy.
*Accuracy is important. Be fast but safe.
*The game has an auto-save feature, so there is no need to make it all in one go.
*Read the instructions for each surgery... you cannot move on until you finished the instructions.
*9 MB load, pardon the wait.

Impressive, realistic and entertaining. Must play

I enjoyed the first dark cut, though it's lack of difficulty in almost everything but the timing sections and the shortness of the game took away from what really could have been great.

Dark Cut 2 (or, should I call it Dark Cut squared?) is a good improvement from the first in its series.

The 'awards' are a nice touch, and present a little extra challenge to those who want to go out of their way, but the game play remains relatively the same as the original with a few key differences.

In this version of Dark Cut, you are thrown into the Civil War and the Union Army needs a medic. You and your handy bottle of whiskey must navigate realistic and risky procedures on a number of patients with all of the tools of the trade at your disposal. This time, the tools are more varied, and are not automatically selected for you. And with the clock running against you, time is of the essence. This adds the level of difficulty I was looking for in the first version. Perhaps my only quarrel with it is the fact that the whiskey bottle is unlimited. Perhaps a limited amount will force players to conserve the alcohol they have, and use it only for pivotal steps.

Speed and accuracy are key to survival now, as opposed to accuracy and timing. And with the realism of the objects, the location of the 'utilized' ends of each tool (which is not always were the mouse points), and the use of drunkenness to ease pain, jmtb really has it down.

Four stages makes this somewhat of a short game, but I still recommend playing it through. I warn you, however, not to let your guard down: anything can happen when your a surgeon on the battlefront!

Overall a very impressive piece of work. Kudos!
