* For all of the frustrated ones: there's a video walkthrough thread at We Create Stuff > Portal: TFV's forum, and some community help. Good luck :)

We started working on this project a couple of months ago, and now, it is finally done. Lately we've been working on this project none stop, acknowledging if we release it after the real Portal - we fail, and our test will be terminated ( ;). So yes, the last piece of code of this game was programed just a couple of minutes ago. Don't worry - those minutes were on bugs!

Portal: The Flash Version includes over 40 challenging, portals thinking levels, which features almost every feature the real game does, in 2d - energy balls, cubes, turrets and even the famous crusher from the trailer. The game also includes a console to mess around with after finishing the game, or just being frustrated by thinking with portals (Commands are posted in our forums)

Left mouse button - launch a portal.
A W D - movement
Q - launch a blue portal.
E - launch a yellow portal.
R - Close both portals.
F - pick up an object.
~ - open up console (enable through the options)
O - quick quality adjust.
Esc/P - pause game.

Version history:

The game really is heavy on levels 30 and up. We did our best to optimize it, but if you still have a low frame rate simply change your quality and effect settings.

If you find any bugs, please report.

Dude, this game... Rules. Although I have a couple little things about it I didn't like, like level 36's slow ass moving platform, or level 32's stupid ass energy ball constantly killing me... the one thing that pissed me off the most was that after you beat level 40
all you get is a stupid cake....

i was expecting to get crushed or something lol.

great fkin game!!!! 10 stars!

Superb Game

Absolutely superb game.
Now I'm even more impatient for the 19th and The Orange Box's release here in the UK.

Oh yeah, I found a glitch, but it's not some majorly big glitch. It'll only happen if you try to make it happen.
I did it on levels 3 and 4, but I'm sure it can be done on many more.
Anyway, if you shoot a portal at your feet and then one directly above you at the ceiling. Jump into the bottom one, and then once you've built up some speed, aim at the ceiling and fire off the colour portal that is on the ceiling, just as you go through the portal on the floor. It'll flip the portals direction, causing you to launch up out of the screen if done right. On level 3, the character was moving really fast, flew off of the top of the screen, then shot along the left side of the screen, behind the door and wall, and then died. On level 4, he was going slower, and instead of dieing, just flew off of the top of the screen, then walked back out of the starting door.

So yeah, kind of a useless glitch, and like I said, can only be done if you try, or if you have really bad luck and really crappy timing. But still, it's a glitch, and decided to tell you.

10/10, favourite game on NG.

Also, for those stuck on level 6, get onto the box in the middle of the level, then you need to shoot 2 portals onto the two bullseye looking thingies on the ground. Then, just jump into the portal on the left, from square platform of course, and you'll fly up fast enough to reach the ledge.

And, level 15, this one is easy. Shoot a portal to the top left corner, but make sure it's on the wall, and not the ceiling. Then shoot a portal to the floor down from that ledge, jump down into it, and you should launch yourself from the one in the corner, clearing the wall and landing on the white ledge before the electro thingy. Then, jump, shoot a portal to the top left corner again, but this time, put it on the ceiling, then put a portal beneath your feet. Jump through it, and you'll land back on the ledge on the left. Then, fire off a portal to the lower ledge again, jump into it, and you'll launch yourself out of the portal that is still by the electro thingy, time it right and you should land in it when it's safe, from there, just run and jump to the exit.

Well, that was longer than expected, but I hope it helped anyone who was stuck

A good substitute for the real thing

Level 39, the first time you walk through the door, you end up at the beginning of the level. The second time you move on to level 40. Overall, great game, lots of fun, some good puzzles, though I found a way to cheat on level 38 and avoid most of the traps and pitfalls you planned. Level Editor version would be nice, but very well coded and animated. Keep it up.

This is just awesome!

What can I say. It's awesome. I wish more games had portal guns in them.

The only thing I can complain about is the collision detection. I've replayed 31 a lot of times now and mainly because I fell of the platforms without being able to do anything about it. That kinda got me annoyed. But besides that, it's awesome.
