* For all of the frustrated ones: there's a video walkthrough thread at We Create Stuff > Portal: TFV's forum, and some community help. Good luck :)

We started working on this project a couple of months ago, and now, it is finally done. Lately we've been working on this project none stop, acknowledging if we release it after the real Portal - we fail, and our test will be terminated ( ;). So yes, the last piece of code of this game was programed just a couple of minutes ago. Don't worry - those minutes were on bugs!

Portal: The Flash Version includes over 40 challenging, portals thinking levels, which features almost every feature the real game does, in 2d - energy balls, cubes, turrets and even the famous crusher from the trailer. The game also includes a console to mess around with after finishing the game, or just being frustrated by thinking with portals (Commands are posted in our forums)

Left mouse button - launch a portal.
A W D - movement
Q - launch a blue portal.
E - launch a yellow portal.
R - Close both portals.
F - pick up an object.
~ - open up console (enable through the options)
O - quick quality adjust.
Esc/P - pause game.

Version history:

The game really is heavy on levels 30 and up. We did our best to optimize it, but if you still have a low frame rate simply change your quality and effect settings.

If you find any bugs, please report.

I just completed the 40th level without using a guide or anything. =] Yay me! I think it's a great game, and it makes me want the real one. The controls were easy to use, the puzzles could all be solved with some thought, the information provided was useful,
and overall it was the best puzzle game I've ever played.

Gee, thanks for the cake

I was already bashing myself on the head for not having bought Portal yet and then I find out about this! Took me a good while to beat it, too. The framerate does sometimes get in the way when you have to do several things after eachother fast, like with the platforms and turrets. However, it's only a mild annoyance. One thing that might be worth looking at is level 38, I managed to get past that without even touching the upper half of the level (the scary part with the turrets and lasers...yeesh). The gameplay reminded me of an old game called Abuse, which had similar controls. If you've never heard of it, it's widely available as freeware now and still enjoyable. Overall, great interpretation of the concept and this could use a sequel :-)

Pure Genious!

Pure Genious!... it was obviously not original, but still captured the addictive fun of a very original puzzle game, great job 5/5 and I plan on voting several days. Best flash game I've ever played.
