I've just done a big final update, which includes a difficulty setting and some new maps (on my site). *Newgrounds is now up to date with the new version.
Thanks for all the positive responses! Until it got into the spotlight, the score was briefly at #2 on the all-time list, which was pretty cool.

Keep your people happy at all costs while you rebuild civilization. Be an evil dictator or a hippy in this sarcastic take on the future!

This is the advanced sequal to my RTS colony game of 2 years ago.. I made the original to get into College, and this sequal is the first game I've made since graduating, and it's the first time I've tried drawing everything in Photoshop. It's taken FAR too long to complete (50+ pages of code!!!), and I've been away FAR too long.. but I'm back!

---- NOOB TIP ----
When you lose, you can still continue the game! It doesn't matter if you lose while learning.

-- Features --
*18 different buildings
*8 government types (including crazy ones)
*3 unique maps
*Dozens of random (and usually sarcastic) events
*Build roads and bridges
*Control your stupid people with fear and lies!

-- Basic Controls / Notes --
(Most of the game should explain itself)
*Hold your mouse over buttons and stuff for more info
*Use arrows or WASD to scroll the map
*You can only build bridges in shallow water!
*If it runs slowly, click the MENU button on the bottom right and lower graphics. It is also recommended that you close other windows / programs.
*There's even a developer console (press "~"). Cheats are up at

total Pwnage!!

this game was really fun! The only bad thing is that the battles often become caotic. I found out that the best thing to do was to have 2 lines with heroes (the golden horsepeople) and TONS of archers and crossbowmen in reserve for barrages. It was also nice to pump up the heroes hp with magic items and inelligence to make your ppl stronger.
What Im trying to say is that it should have been better to fight with your hero. Using a sword was suicide.. and when using a bow it was hard to tell wether you hit your target or not.
you could also have done so the army is shown with numbers when showing the reserve troops. (I got so many there that I never knew what I actually had, never bothered to scroll all the way down the list.

You could also have made more different cities, like small, medium, big, very big, insanely big, and so on. So it had been challenges in the game also when you have mad almost everything. (Like taking a GIANT fortress when you are getting close to lvl30-40)

But dont misunderstand, I loved the game.:)

Flyborg responds:

I.. have no idea what game you're reviewing. :p

A great game

A great game, great idea, graphics, everything.
My only suggestion would be to slow down the weeks or have an option do it, or allow building and monitoring in pause mode. With my touchpad I can't keep up with the pace of the game! :O
But no big deal... Police State!

I did pretty well except I couldn't make food fast enough and there was a constant famine, but the game was awesome and funny. I like how the one ninja warns of the shadow govern...then gets killed.

The game itself was fun. The satire was amazing.

Sometimes you endure so much bullshit in this world that you cease to notice it. You grow weary of refuting it. You begin to accept it. Then something like this game reminds you, and the whole world lights up. You feel energized and fight on.

Thank you for this game, which was jaded enough to wipe away my cynical non-activism.

Interesting, but hard.

It's fun, but impossible to beat!
