Author Comments

This is our first creative submission to New Grounds.

It's Episode 1 of a new digital graphic novel / digi-comic The City Of Thamesis.

Please feel free to comment or visit our hub site at www.cityofthamesis.com and let us know what you think there.

Here is a short intro to the story of Thamesis:

Welcome to the city of Thamesis, capital to a kingdom divided....
Once the seat of power for an ancient, all-powerful monarchy, much of Thamesis is now run by the influential Britomart Corporation who use their seductive psychic technology to exert control.
It has become a city of torn loyalties as its inhabitants choose between life as a subject of the Crown or a Citizen of the Britomart.

Meanwhile down in the inner city streets, beyond the reach of either power, dangerous outlaws have successfully hacked Britomart's technology for their own gain, boosting its power exponentially. Some use it only to escape their daily grind while others maliciously spread terror on the streets.
As the city plunges towards civil war, can anyone bring order to the streets of Thamesis?

Discover how an ambitious young king (Jonathan of the Rose), a scarred ex-war hero a beautiful psychic (The Lion & The Unicorn), and a teenage scoundrel (The K.I.D.) find themselves caught up in the struggle for control of the city.

The story is only just beginning....

Thanks for watching

I watched this series when you first released it in 2007, and it has stuck with me all these years. One of the best mixed medium graphic novels and stories I've read. Was there ever more released? how do I get my hand on all of it now???

I'm normally not into the idea of having the dialogue written down. I do want to make an exception with this. It helps that you didn't have to click on the dialogue to continue. This was just a wonderful usage of visuals! Everything was so bright and colorful. It really did feel like a motion comic.

You even set up some interesting characters here. You know how to create atmosphere. I am so glad you made more episodes. I haven't seen a series this good in a long time. The music is wonderful as well.

Interesting.

Not sure If I like it but it seems very well done either way.

Excellent

I'm a new comer to New Grounds and just have to rave about the interface and functionality. I love the 'dim the lights' feature and full screen mode. It's a truly pleasurable viewing experience and does the content justice. I have watched some of these episodes on You Tube and it just doesn't compare. The crispness and smoothness is what it's all about. I have properly enjoyed this story and look forward to enjoying the rest of the series here.
Keep up the good work everyone.

This is great

A really unique style. Great use of rotascope(?)

Story is a little confusing but I get the feeling you know what you're talking about / know where it's going. You've just got to make sure you let us know too!

Keep up the good work - can't wait to see where this goes.

BA.

p.s. Let's see some other cities of the world Thamesisified - New York, Paris, Berlin... I guess Tokyo is already there?
