A lot of you were asking about the origins of the characters from Hazardous Hurler. Here is one of them in it's original cartoon. I created this by taking a few shorts I made in back in 2004, and then adding a final chapter more recently. Shows the evolution of my animation.
Skip to part three if you only want to see the well animated part. Although you'll be kind of lost if you do as this is a trilogy.

The eighth in a series of releasing old works to promote my redesigned site.

Nice one MCSM!

It was a classic display of a man trying to get his runaway hot-dog van back. Has very cartoon like humour. With a little bit of crude and violence, still worth seeing for a quick 2 minute laugh.

One thing I didn't like was you had sounds in the second half of the movie and the first was all quiet.

Lambtaco responds:

Thanks. My intention was to leave the first two episodes exactly as they were, which led to some lack of sound, and probably took a chunk out of my score on NG. But whatever, it hurts no one.

Lots of Potential, But Needs Improvement

I honestly didn't see that much of a difference in the ANIMATION between episode three and episodes one and two. What I did see was a drastic improvement in the art style by the use of shading and gradients, which I would like to see applied to the first two episodes. I would like to see some more care taken with the animation itself to make it appear a little more realistic; for example, the scene with Hotdog Man running looks too much like just a running animation against a scrolling background rather than Hotdog Man actually running. But the biggest needed improvement is the sound. The scenes are mostly silent, there are frequently no sounds where there should be (the helicopters for example), the sparse sound effects that are there sound unnatural, and the few vocal parts are laughably bad.

The movie isn't altogether bad; the "plot" used here works for a comedic short, and there are some very original ideas, such as Hotdog Man bleeding ketchup and mustard. The movie has a lot of potential, but needs more work on art and sound effects before being a truly quality submission.

Lambtaco responds:

I see your point. the only real change in animation was the addition of more joints and a bit of easing. I think I really need to spend more time om my tweens; I usually just slap them together. And I noticed the run cycle sucks. Probably shouldn't have done that first, should have done some sort of warm-up.
The helicopters make noise, btw. The crappy sounds are mostly due to me using sound clips I had laying around instead of recording or researching new ones. Even the voices are clips from other projects. But alughably bad still gets a laugh.
I think when it comes down to it, I really just need to spend more time on things. I know I have the skills, but I lack the drive to put alot into one thing. Thanks for this review, it made me rethink how I do my cartoons.

good

it was good, the animation could have been better.
try using ease in your tweens, it helps alot!

Lambtaco responds:

Thanks. I did ease my tweens, just not very skillfully. I think this was one of my earlier works using easing.

Sorry

Man, your Idea is not quite "The good Idea", the flash has no music, and the caracter do not move... just his arm, and shape things, Really need more work.

Lambtaco responds:

Did you watch the whole thing, or just the first part? Because the first part is crap I made 3 years ago.
