Stigg's Veggie-Matic

When Stigg's class held a Health Fair, most of the kids brought healthy foods or exercise equipment. But not Stigg-- he brought free cake instead! Everyone knows cake isn't good for you, but it sure draws a crowd. Fortunately, Stigg has a secret weapon... the Veggie-Matic!

As you've probably guessed, this game is my entry to the Wiggi World contest! That means it's designed for kids aged 5-12. It needs to be clean, there needs to be a reasonably finite ammount of play-time, the first level needs to be do-able by tiny human-larve with developing reflexes, etc. etc. I tried to make the game as fun as I could, given these requirements.

I've written a lot of Flash reviews here at Newgrounds, but this is my first submission. Feel free to rip it apart-- I thrive on criticism. :)

Oh, also, I'd like to thank Erica Mendez and ShockDingo from the Voice Actors Alliance. I'm sorry I don't have a website for either of them but they can be reached at the VAA forum. Both of them came to my aid with auditions even though I posted with a ridiculously short deadline, and even better, they both managed to really nail the voices of characters I'd made up in my own head!

Edit: Woo-hoo! Daily 5th and Front Page? Thanks, guys! :D

Edit: Wow. It won. Just WOW. I mean, I hoped it would, and I did my best, but... WOW! :D

Was very easy

but i have to admit my jaw dropped when i saw the hord of those things that looked like jujubes xD i was like WFT CLICKLCLICKCLICKLCLIK AAAAAAAA!

Great!

If you're aiming for the 3-10yrs audience, then you've got it right on. I wasn't your normal 7yr old (and I'm currently still not normal for my age) but I know what your average 3-10s would like, and this is it. My only complaint is that if I find it hard, the 3-10yr olds I know would find it impossible. Apart from that, great. Definitely not for me, but great for the target audience.

WarpZone responds:

Yeah, well, I tested it on some kids of various ages and adults with bad reflexes. The 3-year olds could pretty much all beat the first level once a grownup put their hand on the mouse and started them clicking, and at least a couple of the older kids were able to beat the last level. Given the ridiculously wide range of player ability in the target demographic, I think I did the best I could to make something nobody would get bored with.

Of course, knowing what I now know about Casual Games, if I had it to do over again I probably wouldn't have made it an action game.

haha

my hand is hurting now, seriously, and it was a little too easy, i didnt lose one piece of cake

WarpZone responds:

I find your claims regarding the cake highly dubious.

rubbish

it was grate and i found the hole thing fun NOT!!!! i hate rubbish like this i mean shit like this on new grounds??? im just glad that the contest is over and we can all forget it or more like shoot it and throw it in a lake

WarpZone responds:

Yeah... good luck with that. How do you shoot a contest, anyway? Especially a contest on the internet? I guess you could just build a *really* big gun, but where are you gonna find a lake that size?

The secret!!!

firends, i have discovered the secret to beating the game in recored time!!!!
yes us older players find it difficult, and as to quote my lil bro " it's too hard".
so with some ingenius thoughts about the message they send i tried the reverse, and YES!!!! if you too have a youngster that complains that they cant do it, load them up with SUGAR!!! thats right, givem 5 candy bars and a 6 pack of cola and let them loose. althought is says eat greens, hmmm conflict of intrest?

WarpZone responds:

lulz
