Different, and a lot to like
The beginning was my favorite part, the teacher in class talking while the student wistfully looks through the window at a beautiful scene outdoors. Great looking animation on the student there, and the window scene, brought back some memories, and the music went well with that. Other parts of your graphics seemed lazy though, the graphics in some parts were way better than others. The movie developed slow, and I did not like the whole big thumb device. I didn't find it necessary, or necessary to have it so big. I like the idea though, the kid who doesn't fit in wanting to go against the game with his big thumb making him win for once since I get the impression he is picked right away a lot. The bug bit was again a good idea highlighing the different yet sensitive side of the kid, the sadness and fragility of things around him. His lack of ability to protect things, but the graphics were a lot worse in that scence. You don't need amazing graphics but good enough to be not noticeable. You had better graphics at other points, so just put your best graphical work into every scence. The final scene, connecting the big thumb with the hero, and the kid breaking out his shell to do the right thing again suffered from bad graphics. I like the concept though, making a more sort of serious movie, with messages, emotions, and growth isn't easy or done enough on NG. Look forward to more.
