A few people have been getting confused, but the afterburner only works when the yellow bar is charged, and it drops to zero if you shoot or get shot (to avoid ruining the 4th point in the list below)
Also, if you want to start in a destroyer, press 'End' to self-destruct in your fighter.

Okay, so the initial game concept was basically like this:

- Huge space battles (with several distinct forces)
- Intelligent AI
- Allied ships
- Giving the player no significant advantage other than their playing skill

As far as we’re concerned we accomplished all of that, and in doing so we’ve made something that feels quite unique to play. Now we’re just hoping that you folks agree =]

And to any webhosts who read this, you are all welcome to host this game on your sites, so long as you dont attempt to claim ownership of the game or change it in any way, and you make sure that you display it correctly x.x (500x500).

nicely done

really well made, music went with the game, graphics were decent, only thing I can think of to make it better would have been some sort of upgrade system, other than that, decent

AndrewMartin responds:

Yeah, i did consider that, and would consider it in the future too... Thanks for the review =]

Wonderful! I think you definitely achieved what you set out to do.
I wouldn't change anything, but if you ever think about making another, maybe consider:

More levels! I finished this pretty quick I think (or maybe time just flew...)
More coordination! I loved the last level most of all.
More techno...crap! I thought the ships and weapons were really fun, so according to this formula, more couldn't hurt, right?

Good to hear it from someone else =]

And the levels should span into infinity? The level code keeps changing for the first 8 or so battles, and then every battle type is unlocked and it generates situations randomly until you lose one.

And yeah, i really liked the coordination too. I think i'd pretty much take your advice exactly (plus a few other things) if i made a sequel (as for the level thing, i'd just make the situations more varied, like with the mothership level).

Thanks a lot for yor review.

Unbelievable game

I absolutely love this game. Superbly scripted and nice graphics. The AI is also good (since this is a flash game).

All i can say is keep up the good work.

And if you liked the graphics you should check out james' other stuff, he's an animator too (and a good one).

This game is kinda great ... but haaaaaard >.<
I'm stuck in level 2 >.<!

AndrewMartin responds:

I love making hard games, my bad x.x

It's cool that you're still enjoying it though. Oh, and the levels get progressively harder, but sometimes the code throws out a really hard level (just to keep you on your toes XD), so it's always worth trying again if you got beaten early on =]

This game is amazing.

Holy shit this game is awesome.
And that music that plays in the first level... Is it from Kirby or something? It sounds so familiar.

AndrewMartin responds:

Yeah, kirby music turned metal by GS-Screamer =]

Check the credits for a link. And i'm glad you like it =]
