Disclaimer: Ok, so I don't really care too much on this subject, and my opinion is in no way portrayed in this animation directly. I understand that there are many differences of opinion out there, which some have stated in their reviews - but I really don't give a stuff, so if you feel inclined about expressing your 'views' or 'facts', just remember, I don't give a damn if you're right or wrong. It's not going to change anything, least of all, the world itself.

Have a nice day.

Ok this is something I did for an animation competition over at to do with "Global Warming". I wanted to show/portray how some young people view this issue and what their attitudes are towards it and the ways they may go about expressing their concerns for this global issue.

I'm not overly impressed on how the 3D sections turned out in this, but they are going to have to do for now since I did leave it rather late in the comp to mess around.

Anyhow, I'm pretty much declaring this animation "finished" :P

Enjoy :D (and sorry bout the file size)

Tsk tsk tsk

Global warming is a common misconception; it is not caused by man or greenhouse gases. It is caused by solar activity and there have been many times of either global cooling or global warming without industrial humans as the affect. Unfortunately, they were nice grafics and I have to give it 3 common misconceptions out of 5.

There is a nice film on "The Great Global Warming Swindle" on Google Video. Go to Google Video and paste this after the .com/

Its good

Its well presented and its got a clear message. The graphics are very good and so is the animation and sound.

I found the transition from bad to worse on the planet, then from animation back to painting intriguing and impressive.

I definately feel, though, its missing info, in two senses.

1. Surely it involves something other than Flash in there- people will want to know more about how you got those effects.
2. Having grabbed people with this guilty message you haven't directed them with an option of further info. Text, stats, official quotes, links, Wikipedia... Since your flash is in the top 20 this week and in a collection its still being seen so please do something NOW.
I fet you were on the edge of comedy there, just a hint of expression and nuance. I feel a slight change in the words etc could make it really quite funny, which equals memorable.

In these two ways you would be making the most of your skills and this moment of peoples attention. Remember also that most people on NG are just flicking through and will rapidly more on to the next thing to see/vote on/laugh at etc, so those few people who are really interested in your work or your message are the most important people to cater for, both in terms of your score and your message.
I'm so glad admin suported it, in a quieter week you would have won an award with this score- bad luck!
As an active environmentalist I am pleased to see this work and this competition. Lets hope we can make everyone pull together.

Best Wishes to all those fighting the fight for our environment and our future from the Dragons & Spirits.

Nicely done

I find it interesting watching toons like this, because they carry important messages forward to people who otherwise would ignore them. I find it just as interesting to read the reviews as I do to watch the movie, in fact, because I think you've done a good job of getting to the guilty conscience, though a lot of people probably wouldn't admit it.

Keep up the good work!

Funny. I love the art teacher's reaction after the end of that chick's diatribe. He was all like "Uhhh..." That's how I would react in a real life situation if someone went all neo-liberal-after-school-speci al on me. Hey, was anyone else reminded of Daria by this?
