WOW it survived thanx a lot guys.
i am working on my next one which will include sound and will be a lot less bland.
will be up today, why not check it out?
i didnt see many others like this on the portal, so i decided to make my own. if this survives i will make another one covering walking and jumping animations, AI, colectables, lifes ETC.

please note i used flash 8 and other versions may look different.

this helped a lot...when i made a new flash document and did it all but when i tried to put the action script onto this other game i was working on, it didnt work...but im sure i can work with it, very helpfull tho

on your finished product (the example of how it should look like). when the circle walks out of the platform it doesnt fall =/

i have to admit.. i didnt really like the bland style of that tutorial. but the fact that it was platformer makes my vote 5!! i have wanted to make a decent platformer for soooo long!! if you know how to make like enemies or make the movie clip change when it moves (like a character goes from standing to walking) ... or very helpful would be if you knew how to make the camera follow you through the level, pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeease send me the codes. pleeease. i voted five so send me the coddees!!!!!!!!

Hmmm... It's great help for beginners I suppose, but I made a way better engine in one day and with completely no expierience on making platformers:/ You should have focused more on coding. Still, nice work.

so did i but the characther alone has over 250 lines of code :S i thought id just go simple.
