Basic Chara Creator Tut

This is a tutorial on how to make a character creator where you use arrows to change parts on a character. It includes an example and an explanation of code for newbies at flash. And please don't vote low because of the icon, it doesn't make sense to keep a good flash from passing because of an image I made in a hurry.

thank you

ive been looking for a tutorial like this. btw, what actionscript does this use? 2 or 3?

nice but a one ques.

ok first off u didin tell ppl what to download to actualy make the characters and how to get backgrounds etc. you know use examples of flash things or watev u can download and or buy

what kind of name is lordofcheese!!??

I found it alright, because it was obviousely meant for beginners of flashmaking so it lacked all the bells and whistles. And in case you viewers were wondering, the subject says "what kind of name is lordofcheese!!??" because the guy who reviewed this selection before me had that alias.

Thanks! More reviews would be appreciated. How many weeks has it been...?

HAHAHA! That SUCKLED!

Seriously, terribly drawn, and your music selector is broken. When I changed scenes the music changed but the selector display didn't. Plus, like we really need more dress-up games. Especially ones as ugly as your tutorial.

And you didn't even tell them to make sections for different clothing for different body types. Like legs1 has a subset of leg_clothing different from legs_2 that you can change with another button. And what about layers? Like shirts that hang over pants?

Also, your setup was terrible. And giving it a fancy name like "Character creator" doesn't make it any less of a dress-up game. What can I expect. It seems that you cannot code properly, as is evident by your broken music selector.

Furthermore,

And I must reiterate: No more ugly (and boring) dress-ups. That's why the only redeeming factor of my only submission was its message rather than it's content. Oh, and I actually at least spent time to make it look good. /portal/view/242661

yoyoboy666 responds:

It's not meant to have good graphics. It's just showing people how to do what I did. This code could be helpful to people. If you didn't care for the graphics, I might improve those. But all my other reviews didn't complain about much/anything. I only added the music selector as an extra thing, it's probably broken because I originally coded it to stay on one frame. And I noted in the example that I'll make another tutorial sometime if people want to know about changing body types/using layers.

Good Tutorial

It's a good tutorial, but somethings need to be fixed. The graphics were good. Style was good. Sound rocked. Not any violence. It had good interactivity, but there was some problems with the sounds. No humor. Overal was good. Hey, an overall of 8 is considered to be an -A.
