How good are you at decoding the scrambled country names?

I love reviews! Let me know how many points you got and also any criticisms you have.

Stay funky!

Points system:
+1 point for each letter in a correctly decoded word.
-1 point for a wrong guess
-6 points if you choose the 'need help?' option, which unscrambles a quarter of the word.

Changes since last time: prettier buttons, difficulty levels (different lengths of words and no capital letters in hard mode unless unscrambled), the hint system, which lets you unscramble stuff, the addition of all remaining countries.

ALL COUNTRIES ARE INCLUDED! Apart from 7 that I felt were too long and obscure. Over 300 country names, correct according to the CIA website as of date of submission.

Stuff to maybe be added:
rankings (so you get messages depending upon your performance)
better in-game instructions?
Prettier?
Volume control

^^Good Points^^
A bit improved since the first version of this game. I like the difficulty selection. I've never even heard of most of the countries though. Also, the hint option is cool to have around. Good scoring system, overall a solid game.

^^Needs Improving^^
I would say that when you use a hint, there should be some denotation as to where the words are still scrambled. For example, just make the correct letters a different color. You could also apply this to gameplay when you aren't using hints. Just to give people who are guessing a little bit of an edge.

Glad you appreciate the improvements.

I'll make 'easy' contain only better known countries after comments from someone else.

The idea for having a colour-change for unscrambled letters is kick-ass. I can think of only really complicated ways to do that though, but I'll try my darndest to put it in.

I was thinking the same thing myself - that there should be some way to know which letters are unscrambled. Having a colour shift never occured to me!

Not sure what you meant with your 2nd point. Will PM.

Ta for excellent review! You've been really helpful with the development of this particular game!

Nice game

Nothing really. Maybe make the moving colors in the background a little more visible.

Great Job. Real time waster.

Good game

A perfect way to kill 10 minutes in the office. I did need some help on certain countries, but I did manage to get up as high as 51 on easy, which I'm proud of.

Not quite sure why you used an 'O' as the correct symbol. Why not just use a tick or a check to indicate that. Still, it is your game, so your choice.

This game can be given so many new takes - movies, sports, etc, which is what makes it so cool - the template is simple and you can tweak it for a new subject each time.

Good work, when can we see more from you?

I'm hoping to keep making stuff regularly, so if you add me to your favourites, you wouldn't have to wait long before getting an e-mail!

Just now, though, I'm a bit sick and choose to not spend my energy on doing Flash stuff.

If you mean, 'when can we see more word-scrambles'... I'll be finishing this one off soon. After that, I'll maybe do a few more if folk enjoy them.

The circle is used to denote 'correctness' in many eastern countries. Also, it's prettier, with a nice symmetry to it.

Glad you enjoyed it!

Stay funky!

Cool

Score=-48 =)

-Good-
This game was pretty fun. The music was a nice pick and the graphics were good. I also enjoyed the "Need Help" feature, but I used it way to much. The pick of countrys was nice and hard.

-Bad-
Like I said before, the questions on easy were way to hard for me at least.

-Overall-
A nice fun game

Just now, the selections are based on the # of characters rather than me actually choosing stuff based on what folk will know. The idea being that with fewer characters, you need to unscramble less.

It seems like a hefty undertaking, but I reckon you just told me the one thing I hadn't really thought of to make this better.

Thanks a lot, dude!

Good

I enjoyed it and I was challenged by it.
I started with hard.
I found hard too hard and gave up quickly!
Although you have said all 300 countries are in it, I kept having some of the same countries come up, which started to affect my score. I got a hiscore of 51 twice.

It looks fine and it sounds fine. Was that 'you got it right' sound your voice?

Its cool and fireeagle liked it too. He 's 12 and he was clueless on Easy!
Best Wishes,
Ice

The same country should not come up twice in the same game, but could well come up in subsequent games as they're essentially randomly picked. Odd if it's happening all the time.

The countries are divided amongst the 3 difficulty levels.

The 'got it right' sound and 'wrong' sound were from flashkit.com, I think.

Thanks for the review!
