In the year 1999, an alien vessel crashed on Earth. Ten years later, a united mankind has sought to rebuild the fallen space fortress and travel to the stars. Our story begins hereā€¦

This film is not based on the mythos set by Robotech. It's based on the original source material for Robotech's Macross Saga and its film version, Macross: Do You Remember Love.

Certain scenes were taken from the 15th Anniversary Playstation game.

Ki-ick ASS!!

Dude. This was the closest thing I could come to actually watching DYRL. Su-f'n-perb.

I am currently collecting the entire Macross series myself. Did you actually get that voice audio from the movie? You have it? Where did you find it, if you have it? I'm looking all over for that movie to add to my collection.

Again. Superb job, dude. Macross rocks! And props to Shoji Kawamori paving the way.

MedMapGuy responds:

Glad you liked my little feature. I'm really glad. I would just like to point out that all the voice acting is 100% orginal, I hired one actor to play both Roy Focker and Hikaru Ichijo! He's amazing! DYRL is a tough find, try stopping by Macrossworld forums and ask around, or just watch that superb movie on Youtube.

It's kinda cool for a prologue, isn't it? ;P

Excellent job.

I loved it. As a long time Macross fan, I am truly impressed with the great work that has been done here.

However, I would not put much salt on Shoji Kawamori not producing anymore Macross. It seems a lot of creative control is taken out of his hands when it comes to Macross (Macross II), so I would imagine he would love to make more of it when they're willing to respect his work more often. As it stands, Macross is easily the most copyright disputed work in Japanese anime history. I shit you not.

My god..

I'm not a fan of Macross/Robotech, but I have to say, that's one of the most well done flash films I've ever seen. I have *no idea* what was going on the whole time, let alone the context, but it was pretty nonetheless.

MedMapGuy responds:

I really have to improve my writing... hehe... thanks anyway!

Good Job

Despite the intro your movie got stuck in the Robotech section. Oh well it was nice anyways.

pretty good

As a huge Macross fan myself I have to say that was pretty good. I liked your use of the movies music and sound effects. While the voices were OK I noticed that they mispronounced some words, but that pretty forgivable.

The visuals while the artwork was pretty good I don't think that they moved as well as they could have. But still a good job.

Oh and there are several sequels to Macross - the unofficial sequel 6 part OVA Macross 2, the music video Macross 2012, the TV series Macross 7, the 4 part OVA Macross Plus, the 4 part OVA Macross 7 Dynamite, and the most recent the 5 part OVA Marcross Zero. All of theses are really good and you should check them out if you haven't already.

MedMapGuy responds:

Glad you liked it. I know all about Macross' recent history, with all the OVA's and stuff, and I also know about the 25th anniversary coming up. Hope an announcement for a new series comes!!

How the hell do you pronounce Muh-kross anyway? :P
