What?
This is a very simple game but its quite addicting, hope you like it.
What?
Certainly better than regular monopoly. It's MUCH faster because the rent for landing on property is the full PRICE of the property and not some tiny fraction of it (like I remember the cheapest properties in monopoly were mediterranean and baltic, which are 60 and 80 mux/dollars and the rent is only 2/4.... well in this, the rent would be 60/80) and because you don't need to have a monopoly (own all the property of a given color) in order to upgrade them with 1-4 houses/hotels (or in this, 3 levels, and "landmarks" being the top one). Because of that, this is MUCH less likely to become a stalemate (2 players left, each of them gaining 200 by getting to go at a rate faster than they lose money to the other player on an average complete circuit around the board) or take an excruciatingly long amount of time.
The AI is not too bright. It does not use its bonuses very efficiently, especially the upgrade bonus. What you should do with an upgrade bonus is to sell all your landmarks (i.e. hotels). It is largely due to luck (not as much as regular monopoly since you really have no choices in regular monopoly, what are you going to do, NOT buy a property you land on?) but it doesn't understand this, and if you can keep it going long enough, because you can utilize it more efficiently, you will probably win the war of attrition because you'll take in money faster than the enemies. You definitely want to wipe out any enemies' bonuses that have the "steal" bonus, if you have anything of any value, that's exceedingly dangerous to you. You want to switch with a player that's just about to get to go, or past the extremely dangerous properties with high rent as you're just getting to them, and use your mini roll or mega rolls appropriately to minimize the probabilities of landing on high value enemy properties (remember the most common dice throw with regular dice is 7, and with 1-3 valued dice it would be 4, and with 1-9 valued dice it would be 10), and don't be afraid of sending YOURSELF to the hospital (jail) if few properties are left and every roll is more a liability than an asset. Also, wait to buy landmarks on your new properties for when the enemies are in the places where they're most likely to land on them if you are strapped for cash and haven't been lucky enough to get any upgrade bonuses. No sense wasting money buying the upgrades if there's little chance of the enemies landing on the property. He right though
