Alright, although this is my first submission, first (completed) game, and first serious flash, I put a lot of work into it, and I'm hoping that you will all be very pleased! Feel free to post your high scores, and please, I will read all reviews. Let me know what you liked, what you disliked, and what needs to be improved.

Introduction
Fire is falling from the sky, and enemies are attacking from both sides! Avoid the fire and kill your enemies to survive! There are 12 stages and each stage is progressively longer and harder. Each time you advance, the scenery will change. The final stage (12) lasts forever... or at least as long as you can survive.

How To Play
Use the arrow keys to walk.
Hold Z to shoot. (You do not need to press it repeatedly.)
Press Space to jump. (You must release before you can jump again.)

Hints and Tips
When you die, wait for enemies to leave. This may take a couple of seconds. Just be patient.
The faster the fire falls, the more damage it will deal, so stay alert.
Enemy colors reflect their specialties; yellows move faster, reds deal more damage, and blues take more hits. Beware of advanced creatures. For example, greens both move faster and take more hits.
Power-ups will spawn every 1000 points. Thus, as you progress, power-ups will become more common. If you have only one life remaining, you will always get a 1-up.
At early stages, jumping will be mostly impractical. It isn't recommended that you jump often until you reach flying enemies, as your shots will pass above ground enemies while in the air.
At the end of levels 1 through 5, you will shoot a little bit faster. At the end of levels 6 through 11, you will move a little bit faster.

Good!

For a first submission, this is good! its pretty simple, but cool. good work!

great

great game keep um comin

cool one

it was a fun game. very very simple, but it was a fun way to kill time.

easy and simple, its great

I think its a kool game, cos mainly, its easy and i can understand it, but its slow movin' so thats a kinda bad point

Shroom-Mage responds:

Heh, thanks! Simplicity is key, in my opinion. Don't worry, though. I'll make the next one much faster.

Speed it up

The concept is awsome, all you really need to do is speed up shroom mages movements. its really hard to get into the game when he's moving really slow. Other than that awsome game.

Shroom-Mage responds:

He starts getting faster after stage 6, but I guess he does start out kind of slow-moving. Onto the list of plans for future games it goes!
