This is an animation I made back in 2006 for a flash series concept. Watching .hack inspired me to start crafting this story about a group of gamers who discover an exploit inside of the MMORPG they are playing which magically sucks them into the game, permanently.

They meet a mysterious black-masked warrior afterwards who had fallen victim to the same fate long before them, and the gamers learn that this person has since then become insane and now seeks revenge on a particular GM that he suspects engineered the exploit that tore them all away from their lives in reality.

The events that ensue is a dark, mind-control conspiracy in which the game, and its fantasy setting, is the venue. Can you survive an MMO?

Props to Sword Art Online for actually bringing a story like this to fruition.

The original movie desc is below:

Approx Running time: 4 minutes. Around 10,000 frames at 30 fps]

Alright Newgrounds! This episode takes place minutes before the actual series begins when Obilisk-Leeds Entertainment prepares its next generation M.M.O. (massively multiplayer online game IE: World of Warcraft), Dimensions, for its opening day event. When the M.M.O.'s first players crowd into the world, a rogue player is detected lurking on the outskirts of Hioege, a vast city on a floating island.

Very nice drawing and plot, animation needs work

This rocked the socks. But the animation is very, very choppy, and there are several missing frames, undrawn swords, ect.

I would like to see the next episode, though.

not to shabby... the art is incredibly great, but you can't substitute art skills with much required animation skills. Sometimes, a character would either have all the color drained out of him, be a replaced outline sketch, or would disappear altogether! Just work on animation more in the next one and you'll have it down in the top 50! (btw: The lipsyncing stunk!)

Looks like it will be a good series

The art is very nice, and although the story isn't clear, it looks pretty good from here. The only thing I can complain about is the unclean animation, but the images were so good it doesn't really matter. I'll look forward to the next installment!
