2006-07-12: edit. Took about 10 min. to sort the highscore problems. Also made highscore show in-game. Note to others - don't initialise all your variables on the frame you go to when you replay.

If match-3 games and mousegames got it off, this might be their child.

Let me know your top score and any specific thoughts you have. I appreciate all thoughtful reviews and respond to all.

Shapes rain down and you must eliminate them before they reach the bottom. Touch a shape to highlight it. Touch shapes of the same type to highlight them simultaneously. When you've gotten at least 3 highlighted, click the mouse to eliminate them.

You can wait to highlight up to 6, to get more points.

I think above 200 pts is a good score, over 250 is grand and over 300 is great. My top score so far is 414.

Took me 3 hours to make. Idea sparked by Miquette.

Stay funky!

My score (only played once) was 264. It's a pretty fun game, and difficult enough to make it interesting. My overall rating: 9/10.

LuckyLollipopLad responds:

Good score!

Glad you enjoyed it, though hopefully the finished version will be worth playing more than once.

Stay funky!

Interesting Concept

Interesting idea for a game, and certainly not bad for something whipped up in a few hours. There's not a lot of variety to the game, but I guess it's short enough that's not a big deal--although it might be interesting to see some sort of expanded version based on the same basic idea. (Which maybe is being planned anyway, given that this is said to be a "prototype"...)

LuckyLollipopLad responds:

The central gameplay will remain the same, but with more minor variations as you progress.

This really was just to see if I could even code it.

This is actually a nice game, it's not ground breaking or anything, but it's fun if you have a few minutes you want to kill. My only complaint is that it didn't last long enough because the shapes would drop to fast. You might want to consider making these drop a little slower while keeping the same scoring system so people can play a little longer if they've got time to kill. Since it only takes two or three minutes to play a game. Anyway good work.

LuckyLollipopLad responds:

Yeah, I'll totally adjust it and make it speed up slower, along with many other changes.

Thanks for the comments.

this was really wild

i look forward to what comes after the prototype. a suggestion tho, keep it this makes it really great like this. the simplisity and artistic styling of this game make it as cool as it is. dont ruin it with over the top pwer ups or different music or anything like that. just keep it simple and im sure ittl do fine. maybe even front page :)

LuckyLollipopLad responds:

Cheers, man!

Don't worry. I'm not in favour of adding on new toys before I've played about with the rules governing the existing pieces.

I'm tempted to make this a level-based thing, kinda like Skears. But I'd like to experiment with the endless-type angle first.

We'll see what happens...

Thanks for the encouragement.
