My Flash tutorial got a Daily Deviation on deviantART!! :D
Check it out at http://the-shadow-master.

< Old description is old. Here's the less intimidating one >

Remember, this tutorial is aimed at a noob to the Flash program, someone who has never used Flash before and wants to learn. So don't go complaining to me if its boring. xD

Hey everyone, this is a tutorial i did for my IST (computing) assignment in year 9, so i decided to submit it :D
Firstly, if you don't have Flash Player 8+, chances are you wont be able to properly view this tutorial, so plz get it from adobe.com if u don't have it.
Secondly, here's a link to the trial version of Flash CS5, which is the most recent version of Flash as of July 2010: [ https://www.adobe.com/cfu sion/tdrc/index.cfm?produ ct=flash&promoid=GXWGG ], for those who want to check out Flash before getting the full version.
Right-click menu ftw! Right-click for chapters 'n crap. try it! :D
This tutorial shows off my old but somewhat electrified intro. Turn up the bass for an audio "experience"! (ie. turn down your sound if you don't want a hearing aid any time soon)

The first steps to recovering from noobness in animation are motivation, and finding your style. This tutorial can help with motivation and basic knowledge but you'll have to find your style yourself, and this usually happens over time. If you do give up along the way, try to come back to it at a later stage.

Ok, my rant's over ^^;
Enjoy!

You deserve this 5 for being so descriptive and helpful.

I am using a laptop so most of this wont work.

Nice for Noobs

It's great for noobs but since they are still very new they may think tweening is the ONLY way to animate with flash, that would be a horrible outcome... you didn't really teach layers or frame by frame... Other than those things, very well explained tutorial for beginners! 7/10!

The-Shadow-Master responds:

Haha yeah I guess I was pretty ambiguous about that.
I realise that FBF is a predominant aspect of animation as a whole. But the majority of my animation is tweening, so I felt it'd be better to teach what I'm more experienced with. I do use FBF in various situations but generally not as much.
I'm not saying by any means that tweening is the only way to animate, I'm just putting it out there as a second and just as useful option to those who find FBF more difficult, or for those who believe that FBF is the only way.
Thanks for the review! :D
