Break Out v1.10

Destroy all the blocks before they pass you. Each time you destroy a block you earn 10 points.


I've made so many changes to this that I think it should be submitted again as apposed to just editing v1.01.

this is nothing like the Atari classic which isn't what makes this a bad breakout game (for once). The fact that my ball wasn't going where I want it to go (I was hitting with the paddle accurately on the left) and that it was going so fast made this version of breakout very poor.

Extra comment (rant included): I am sick of seeing a modern breakout game with lines just because the Apple II version had them is ridiculous. I want the block version back; I miss it...

Needs a means of altering direction

The fact that the angle of the ball's bounce cannot be determined by the player, like in other breakout games, makes this a very, very poor breakout game. Just on the very first level the ball became stuck bouncing between two corners, not hitting the remaining blocks and the player is helpless to do anything about this type of situation.

One of the aspects of a breakout game is being able to aim your ball's bounce towards the remaining blocks. In this game the only control you have is preventing the ball from falling past the paddle. It takes away the strategic value and what makes a breakout game fun.

Space Invaders meets Breakout with Tetris music lol yeah i didnt like how you had to start from the beginning of the level when u died either

First of all, you never use the Tetris songs, EVER.. you totally ruined it and it was kind of slow and retarded.. the graphics were bad too.. sorry..

...

Darn it, i didnt lose a life until the 8th level and i didnt like how you had to start from the beginning of the level again. I did like the choice of music for the background though, and the style you have made for this is so new aged it truely is nice to play with. In the original the blocks didnt come down the screen did they? i thought that was a new creative edition to what was a simple game.
