I've never been very good at scripting so I decided to practice and experiment a bit with some codes I got from a flash book. This is the finished product, enjoy!

Move the ball side to side and collect the yellow balls as they fall. The speed they fall increases as your score increases. Also, you can have up to 4 players at a time but the difficulty increases everytime you add another player.

Cool

The only improvments I can think of for this would be a leaderboard, and some way of the game ending, like collecting the wrong colour a couple of times, or missing too many. But appart from that it's great! By the way, what books you reading for the scripting, I could do with some help too :)

I'm reading Macromedia Flash MX Game Design Demystified. It's a bit complicated at first but I managed to take some of the basic coding and experiment with it a bit to get the realistic rolling movement. Good luck with your scripting!

Not bad for an experiment

You seem to have done pretty well for this to be an experiment. It didnt' freeze or have any other kind of malfunction... not for me anyway. You'll probably do a lot better the next time you make a game. Good luck with the scripting

hriscay responds:

thanks

Really, really easy. Some tips...

Okay, you say that coding isn't your stong point, but here are some things that would make this more interesting:

- drop more than one yellow thing at once.
- for two- (or more) player, make them hit each other instead of just rolling past.
- speed things up!

So, yeah, it's pretty boring as it is now. But it does look nice.

Also -- the one thing that was a little challenging was the yellow things falling ALMOST offscreen. But I think that was just a glitch. Keep trying to make it better!

hriscay responds:

Like I said, I'm no expert at scripting but thanks for the tips. I'll try to use them if I ever make a another game like it.

Good game

Good game. Slow at first, but got pretty interesting when the balls started falling fast. Keep up the good work.
