Hint!: You should probably watch this movie at least twice all the way through in order to catch everything!!

This movie was rather experimental in it's animation as well as it's story. I've played around in past movies with using photographs (peach moon) and hand drawn images (The Night I Was Almost Murdered...) and so this time I decided to combine the best of ALL worlds and see what would happen. This movie contains photographs, hand drawings, photoshopped drawings, paintings, cardboard cutouts, and characters drawn in flash. As for the story, I wrote out all the different scenes I wanted to use and then scrambled and reorganized them so that the story is presented in a nonlinear fashion

for those who don't understand

first thing to keep in mind is that the events in the story aren't presented in a linear fashion(i.e., it doesn't start at the beginning and end at the end). so i think that the prices are actually going *down* as more of the robots end up killing themselves, decreasing their reliability(and therefore value).

After I watched this i just had to sit there for a minute, thinking woah. This was very good. I liked the colors you used and i also liked the fact that everything looked like it had been hand drawn, since it had texture instead of that slick computer art look.
I also liked the story. So much can be said without words. Wonderful job!

I am confused

I like the way the flash is and the grim colours don't spoil the drama and chronicle, but what does this all mean anyway? Please answer my question of which I have asked you, it would help me understand.

Matt-Merrill responds:

I'm sorry to answer your question this way, but it is up to you what it means. In this movie, and others of mine, my goal has been to not limit the movie to one specific meaning, but instead, leave it open so that viewers may be more open minded with the meaning

i dont get it

why whould he have to kill the person, then take the body and place it in the robot, wouldn't the body start to, ya know, stink. plus him cutting the spine or what ever that was, would start internal bleading so sooner or later the robot would start crappin out blood. and finialy why would the robots need dead people inside them to work?

try thinking things threw next time and maybe it'll wirk out... MAYBE

Matt-Merrill responds:

yes yes, that is all true, but keep in mind this isn't meant to be perfectly realistic.
