I made this game with my little knowledge of AS. So I realize not everything will be perfect... this is a mini movie/game that I made in about a month. Art by-Lenny, AS and animation by me. I hope you like it!

gd try mate, reminds me very much of the first Duke Nukem game. couple of things:

The intros not happening, in the sense that its just not there!

Few thoughts about the game: if there was better environment I would think that the game is allmost finished, because the controls that are now are good enough. Just maybe one thing was not very logical, then you press down the character can shoot only down, I think it would be better if he could shoot to the left or to the right while down key is pressed. Also that red line flying out of the gun was not effective, if it was black and a lot shorter, then it would be good. And... well, I think it is difficult to make good game with human characters, what if there were cartoon characters, funny animals, aliens or something, maybe there would be more fun to play. ;) Well,.. these were the thoughts of only one player out of a million :D
And btw, those BIG bombs just jumped out of the character's pocket and did nothing. :|

Tropical island platformer

A competently-executed platformer with decent artwork. It's very rough around the edges and lacks variation, but improvements will no doubt be forthcoming.

The art style was simplistic, but decent. The animation, however, could use quite a bit of improvement. The walk cycle alone was somewhat ridiculous: the character gets as far as the breakdown, and then switches back again, like a skip or chasse'. It seems very strange, and is mimicked in the arm movement, which is jerky. Jumping isn't quite as bad, but could use work as well.

The scripting was great as far as I could tell, with the exception of opponent AI. There was no skill involved in standing beneath the opponents and shooting up at them; they never moved except to die, and couldn't aim.

The level was incomplete--at the end you simply keep walking forever. The intro doesn't exist, I was waiting for several seconds for a poorly-timed fade in that never came. It's just a black screen.

Scripting was smooth, it wasn't painful to look at, but it's clearly not finished. A decent rough draft, I suppose. I await the final version.

thanks man! I still dunno why the intro does not wanna play! It was good! I know this is the first "game" ive ever done so im still trying to figure out AS, and art/walking cycles/jumping. It isnt finished though.... but thanks for the review!

Nice work

Normally I'd be rough on an entry like this, but given that you guys are as young as you are I'm very impressed. Please don't take that as a bad thing. You guys have a lot of potential to be producing work like this at your age. Don't be discouraged if the people of Newgrounds are rough on this submission. Keep at it. You guys have a lot of great work ahaed of you.

I'll keep trying, getting a bit better. I still dont know much about AS, im just a good animator, so this was hard for me. Its really buggy for some reason. INtro movie doesnt wanna play. I dont get how to fix that. Thanks man! <33333333333333333333333333

addictive =)

i really like it =) shows that you have real skill at flash and you have the potential to go far, spend a bit more time on the graphics and you will be able to be a really good artist!
